Hi!

Just discovered that New Line has updated the official website for "The Last Mimzy" and it's really cool! There are 2 subsites... one for adults and one for kids. You can also hear the theme song by Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) on the adult site.

UPDATE:

Tonner, the company making the Mimzy and Emma dolls for the movie, has won an award for their limited edition Mimzy & Emma set!

TONNER DOLL COMPANY, INC. TO CREATE LIMITED EDITION DOLLS FOR NEW LINE CINEMA’S THE LAST MIMZY

Tonner Doll Company Inc. has created limited edition Emma & Mimzy™ dolls based on characters from New Line Cinema’s upcoming science fiction feature film The Last Mimzy, Based on the short story “Mimzy were the Borograves” by Lewis Padgett, The Last Mimzy will hit theaters nationwide on March 23, 2007.  During the collectible doll and teddy bear debut trade show, IDEX 2007, this past January, Emma & Mimzy™ dolls received a key coveted award, an Industry’s Choice ‘Diamond’ Dolls Award for Excellence.

Kinda cool! I'm pretty removed from all of this at this point but it's still neat to have been a part in making that bunny 3D and working with Tonner to make their version.

Daphne,
The site is great - I didn't realize how many "big wigs" in production and direction there are.  It looks fabulous and I can't wait to see it!  Everytime I see Mimzy, I think if you.  I couldn't be happier for you, finally seeing it all your hard work come to fruition.

                                       hugs,

                                       Brenda

Wow!  That is super fascinating, Daphne!  I clicked on everything - including the quotes from Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking - and found time travel to be a mind boggling concept.  That traveling back would not be possible, but not so unthinkable to travel into the future.  Yikes!   bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_wacko

I loved looking through all of the Mimzy website, very interesting...just one thing as many times as I tried I couldn't get rid of the sound, other than turning of the speakers. Even when I came back to TT I could hear it. I've had to reboot my computer. Strange almost spooky!!!!!!!

That is scary! I keep my computer on "MUTE" all the time unless I want to hear something so wasn't aware of this happening. Humph!

I couldn't get anything on the adult site to open but a few icons and the instrumental music in the background.
So I went to the kids' site to watch the trailer.
I've got enough problems and don't need the computer shutting down; too many open Apps that I'm working on.
If I'd read those posts before going to the site, I'd prob not have looked.

Emma & Noah must be currently popular names; we know 3 families that have 2 kids with those 2 names!

We didn't have any problems with the website on either our laptop or pc and we have DSL. My neighbor has dial up and had it took forever for some of the site to load.

I'm sorry if any of you are having problems. It's a pretty high content, funky graphics, etc. site by the looks. I don't know a whole lot about it myself. Just that we had fun on it last night so thought I'd share.

Yes, Emma and Noah are very popular names right now!

Oh that is the neatest website!  I still think that the fact that I KNOW the woman behind the bunny is just the coolest thing EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I know that Daphne had updated regarding Tonner's award for their Emma & Mimzy duo!!!!  YEA!

I just wanted to pop in and say how TRULY refreshing it is to see a little girl doll that looks like..... ready for this.... A LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!!       No make up, or come hither glances, no mini skirts and high healed boots.... she's A LITTLE GIRL in jeans & sneakers and a sweatshirt!

So, in addition to my big huge hug to Daphne....
I just wanted to express my delight with the Tonner Co. as well.   bear_thumb  bear_thumb

Kim - I know exactly what you mean! You'll see in the movie that this doll portrays exactly what Emma is like.... it's perfect! I was a jeans and sneakers kind of girl myself (still am!) so I truly appreciate the realness (from my point of view) of the character. Nothing barbie or grown up about her!

Oh...me too Daphne!  I mean, I loved getting dressed up fpr church and stuff too, but 99% of the time I was knee deep in a mud puddle lookin' for tadpoles!   bear_tongue

I just die when I see "dolls" marketed toward young children that look like this....

I might just have to see about getting a Mimzy myself!  Oh.... and the Emma as well!

This is awesome! I'm with Matilda though, I feel like you ought to get some credit n there somewhere! You did make the first Mimzy a reality after all!  Well we know who the real star is here. Congratulations Daphne!!
