I just love animals and feel priviledged to have had such a lovely breakfast guest. One day we had a scrawny old fox visit us, another day a red kite dropped in and sat on our wheelbarrow to eat the food that he had caught.
I know these creatures are not as exotic as some that have been posted on TT but I loved seeing them and thought I would share my visitor with you today.
Hugs Jane.
Wow! He looks exotic to me. What type of bird is it?? It looks like it may be a giant pheasant type of bird!?
Thanks for sharing his picture,
JeannieB
Jeannie, he is a 'Melanistic Mutant Pheasant' it is a pure breed, although the name would make you think differently. These large, beautiful pheasants have an iridescent, greenish-black plumage and a red face. They display a remarkable ability to survive and reproduce in the wild.
Hugs Jane.
What beautiful coloring, especially his head ! Thanks for sharing. He is much more attractive than the ring-necked pheasant around here.
Well I think he's gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing your morning visitor
He's a beauty Jane! All I have in my yard this morning is Magpies!

Very pretty bird. He would be exotic here in the desert for sure.
oo, how cool
Beautiful, Jane . . . thanks for sharing!
What a beautiful bird and a fun guest for breakfast. I don't mean you had him for breakfast, well you know what I mean.

Ha!
I think he's beautiful too, Jane; I love animals. Thanks for sharing your picture!
Jane: that is a beautiful bird. I don't get anything as beautiful as that. Oh maybe an owl or a turkey but nothing like what you have there...you lucky duck...
Thanks for sharing Jane - such a beautiful regal looking bird.
Hugs
