Cubs join our family

Dear Lynette,

I just wanted to share with you some good news – the Animals Asia team has three new family members and they couldn’t be more adorable. Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to rescue three tiny Moon Bear cubs that were being smuggled into Vietnam – they are now safe and sound and enjoying the good life at our rescue centre near Hanoi.

So far, it’s been quite a tough year for us in Vietnam – unexpected construction delays have meant that we have had to postpone the beginning of our major rescue of 200 farmed Moon Bears in Vietnam until later this year. These rescued bears will be central to our education efforts, so despite the frustrations, long-term, we are still on track to end bear farming in this country.

Vet Nurse Candice (right) and Senior Bear Manager Annemarie (left) are certainly going to have their hands full looking after these little bundles of energy in the meantime!
