My son Dale like his father is a keen runner, besides him being a mountain bike rider, and "Iron Man competitor" competed in this race the other week-end.
The weather was horrid in the Cape as you can see from all the running gear he is wearing. It was a tough race- cross country and covered anything from 50-80 km(Cant remember- not awake yet)
ermm hubby says it was 32 K !!!! but all over the mountains, with survival kits etc- so a very tough race( what does mother know
)
But the view over the mountains !!!!!!
I think it is time for me to go and find my old running shoes and get back onto the road once again- why is it that the body is willing but the MIND refuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, your lot are tuff cookies. I find it hard to walk around the house. Running a race- cross country and through the mountains...never! Well done all of you... including you Lynnette I'm sure you could do it too.
Hugs Jane.
Used to run too. The old knees just won't let me do that anymore, so have reverted to walking. The scenery is wonderful on your pictures.
That's awesome. Trail/cross-country is so much more fun than street running. That is so cool, I wonder if we have stuff like that here. I wonder what it would be called? I have friends that do Primal Quest and XTerra that have a combination of events and it lasts for several days and you're on a team; including running, climbing, kayaking, biking, trekking. It's totally hard-core, your husband and son would love it.
