Hi everyone.
Each year a bear artist is asked to design the Theodore Society Bear.
Last year I was thrilled to be asked. I had to come up with a design that could be manufactured ......so no airbrushing or needle felting could be incorporated. It was a big challenge to design something that I felt would represent my work and yet be manufacturable.
Well, there was a pretty long hold-up in the manufacturing process due to the delay in getting the tipped mohair. But they are finally here.
I just received my bears in the mail yesterday and am so pleased with how Cooperstown Bears really kept true to my original pattern design. Even right down to the thumbs and wired arms. Jones Publishing sent me the first edition of each of the two bears.
Here are their photos.
They are adorable. What an honor!
Yea and hooray! I got mine a couple of days ago . . . great little bear, Judi!
Wow Judi, congratulations. The bears look great and little Joe really looks happy and proud to be holding them both.
Hugs, Jane.

Apparently I haven't been paying enough attention... you also designed for them? WE NEED TO SEE PIX! Not that we doubt you, but so that we can celebrate with you, too!!
Thanks guys. Did I also mention that the Theodore Society logo is embroidered on one of the foot pads? It's a cute little face of a bear with a bow tie.
Sue Ann correct me if I have the wrong year but you designed a Theodore Society Bear for 2006? I have seen your TS Bears and they are really cute but do you have any pictures you could post here?
Jane you have a great memory...remembering my little boys name. My kids love it when a bear arrives in the mail. me too...

What I meant was that I got Judi's bear . . . I'm a member of the Theo. Soc., so I ordered her 2007 membership bear. But, yes, I did design the 2005 membership bear. Bev White did the first Theod. Soc. bear in 2004, mine was for 2005, Martha Burch designed for the 2006 bear, and Judi for 2007. There aren't too many of these teddies in existence because only society members can order them - but I'm soooooo pleased to say that I have all of them . . . yippee! I'll post a photo in a bit.
   Wonderful Judi
Congratulations Judi...they are wonderful bears. You must be thrilled!
Hugs, Nancy

How wonderful! Judi, you must be thrilled! The reproductions are an excellent tribute to your original bears. Congratulations!
Incidentally, I haven't heard of the Theodore Society ... could you tell us all a little about it if you have a moment spare?
What a very well deserved honour!!!   Sue Ann, I'd love to see all of the Society bears when you get the chance I'd read about them, but Judi's are the first I've seen in the fur.
Paula - and anyone else interested - this is the link to the Theo. Soc. www.theodoresociety.org I promise to have photos of all membership bears up soon. Promise. Soon.
So proud of you Judikins! Well done!
You are such a delightful Artiste

Wow Judi, that's so exciting!!!!
Here are the membership bears. One little bit of trivia: there are two kinds of membership, gold and silver. As you can probably guess, the gold one costs more, but provides more perks than the silver. The bears reflected this difference, also. In 2005 with my design, the silvers received only my bear, but the golds got an additional mini by Mary Jo Sichak. Correct me if I'm wrong, Judi, but with your 2007 design, silver members got the
brown bear and golds got the black one? Can't remember the differences in 2004 and 2006.
Bev White - 2004
Sue Ann Holcomb/Mary Jo Sichak - 2005
Martha Burch - 2006
Judi Paul - 2007
