To those of you who read the thread regarding the question that I got on ebay about using real fur on my teddies, I thought that you might like to see the response that I received to my answer:
"Yes, I was surprised indeed. If I had scrolled down to the bottom of your listing, I would've learned a little more about you. I'm sorry my wording was a little harsh. It's just disheartening to be an animal rights activist in our culture sometimes. I feel like I'm fighting such an uphill battle.
And while I respect and understand where you're coming from and am truly in awe of your work, I can't help but wonder if creating such beautiful collectibles even out of vintage fur isn't in some way coming across to some as glorifying the idea of 'fur', rather than the animal itself... I know that your art is made with that in mind, but I wonder how many of your buyers are of like mind.
That said, it is great to see a differing and unique viewpoint from a fellow vegetarian! I really do appreciate your reply, and thank you for your time. May you enjoy continued success and always enjoy the work!"
I'm not responding to this since we have now both stated our differing views.

Kathy,
It's nice that she responded to your reply and she admits not reading your whole listing before writing to you. You're right though - you've both had your say and nothing positive could come out of rehashing it anymore. You deserve a pat on the back for your handling of this situation - well done.
hugs,
Brenda
 I agree, a nice response and you've both stated your viewpoints.
It was a good response as was yours to her. I think re-using any fur that has taken an animals life is better than having it end up in the garbage. At least something beautiful has come out of the loss of the animal.I don't mean fur coats, I mean like making the bears and other animals.
You had a great prospective on it all. cheers!
HHMMM....I still feel she is a tad confontational and I think any furthe correspondence would mean never meeting. I thin kmany people who recognise that fur is recycled appreciate that they creating something lovely and loving out of a sad end for an animal. In Australia I know of many artists who make bears out of other real furs other than recycled.
Such a slinks - still born lambs - while I could never use one of these as they just make me cry.......no misery or pain for the lamb but i just find it sad that they never expereinced life.......they are really gorgeous skins.
But I wonder what her reactions would be to these.......she must realise that not all fur is obtained under miserable circumstances.
bearhugs
Sandra
What a nice resolution, and acceptance of each others differances. Thank you for sharing it. I think you handled the situation beautifully and applaud your diplomacy.
