I am a new bear maker and have just learned a tiny bit about needle felting noses and paws.  I can't find any supplies where I live and have gone on line to buy but I am overwhelmed with the choices.  I just want to buy a few supplies i.e. felting and needles, to try - anyone have any advice where to start?

I am now retired and looking forward to taking some on-line classes but in the meantime I would like to try my hand at needle felting.

Thanks.  Anne bear_ermm

Hi Anne,

I have bought all of my needle felting materials from edinburghimports.com and so far I am pretty happy.  I have only been needlefelting for about 6 months, so by no means am I an expert.   bear_grin  I know there are a lot of different types of felt out there, so I am also interested in what others have to say.  Good luck, and I can't wait to see some of your needle felted creations!

Dear Anne,  I buy all my needles "buy it now" on ebay from Winderwood Farm, they have a good selection of needles and wool, and they ship fast.  They are on my favorite sellers list

I buy all my supplies from Paradise Fibers http://www.paradisefibers.net/

and Outback Fibers http://www.outbackfibers.com/

I have taken wet felting classes from Outback as she (Jan Gully) is just up the road from me. I like to support local business as much as I can.
