Oh I am SO annoyed!!!!!!!
I was talking on the phone and checking email at the same time and wasn't paying attention.... I am SO mad at myself!
I had an email that was supposedly from UPS (except all the warning signs were there!!! I just wasn't paying attention!) Said that a package I had sent couldn't be delivered because of a wrong address and I needed to pick it up from UPS. The info was on the attachment I needed to download  I thought it was an excel attachment... it was an EXE attachment (program!!!)
So now my main computer is totally messed up!! My network connections are gone.. POOF!! My computer cannot access the internet at ALL. Who knows what other mischief this virus will continue to do....
I spent 8 hours with it yesterday.... 1 1/2 of those hours on the phone with a friend of hubby's who does IT for a living. He's coming over tonight to help
SO.... just as a reminder ----- Pay Attention when you are checking emails and especially if you are downloading attachments!!!! If you get an email with UPS_INVOICE --- Do not open it!! This is a virus!!
On the plus side, I won't be on the internet as much (I do NOT like using hubby's laptop!) so I'll get more bear work done LOL!
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's easily done, I guess............big sympathetic hugs
Maria
Ohhhhhhhhhh that is terrible,

  Massive hugs!!!  And megga thanks for the heads up warning on the virus. Sneaky, nasty boogers
I do hope you can get your poor computer mended
Laura Lynn, I'm so sorry you ended up with a nasty virus on you computer
I try to be so careful about opening things I don't recognize, but these viruses are getting to clever. Hope you get it sorted out quickly.
hugs,
Brenda

It is very easily done... Also watch the "boxes" on the side of websites. I was trying to click on a page to scroll down and opened something odd  fortunately my laptop is set on "paranoid" so things like that just dont (shouldnt say this) get through (touch wood). Also had something come up as an update the otherday... It is too easy when you are busy just to click. Good luck. Frustrating when a computer goes bad
So sorry Laura and I hope that you get it sorted soon.
Hugs
Carolyn

Thanks so much  As you can see I'm back online, but I'm not all fixed yet. Our friend is coming back in a couple of days to hopefully finish the fix. The hard drive needs to be repartitioned so I can get my other programs loaded back onto my machine. (like Word, Excel, Adobe reader....) Thank goodness for friends who work in IT!!
gosh you have had a time of it.... I learned from that. I now stop and think before I click. You know in science they have a nano second???? in my life it is a "oh no second". It it the second that your hand is committed to doing something you know you are going to regret, and takes forever to sort out. Glad you are up an running again. Oh,,,, this may help anyone else out there that is as thick as me ( I doubt it). I cleaned my lap top screen yesterday and must have had a drop of water on my hand. It ran down the side of the screen and made icicles down the side. If this ever happens, dont panic, it has dried itself out and all is well. I did have 1000 panic attacks though. Sorry to crash your post but thought it was a valid point
No worries Carolynn!! Yes, you did post a valid point!
