Hi everyone.  I recieved this email today and want to know what you all think.  HHHMM.  Do you think this is true?
Subject: Mirror or 2 way window??? Can you tell the difference?

How can you tell when you are in a room, restroom, motel etc. with a
mirror or a 2-way glass?
           
Here's how:
     
I thought it was quite interesting! And I know in about 30 seconds
you're going do what I did and find the nearest mirror....
     
This is not to scare you, but to make you aware. A policewoman who
travels all over the US and gives seminars and techniques for
businesswomen passed
this on.
           
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female
changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface
by just looking at it.
           
Just conduct this simple test:

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if
there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then
it is a GENUINE mirror.
     
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail,
then BEWARE, FOR IT IS a 2-WAY MIRROR!

So remember, every time you see a Mirror, do the fingernail test." It
doesn't cost you anything.

Okay, I had to try it....goods news is NO 2-way mirrors in my house! :crackup:  :crackup:

That is creepy to think about........I have no idea if it's true, but ewwwwww, what if it is?

Wow...I really am unfortunate though with this test...or just a bad habit...one of the two, I chew my nails :redface: , so therefore have no fingernail to place on the mirror, but I am sure I could figure something out should the need arise...

Whenever I get something like that I check the Urban legends site...so many of these things are just someone trying to scare the wits out of folks... Check this link out.

AAAHHH!! I am freaked out! I never think about things like this but I never try things on either (I buy and bring home and if they don't fit, then I return them)....

I thought we wouldn't have them here in Oz.

Charlotte - I wish I had scrolled down to see that you had already done the research I just finished! I too automatically go to those pages when I see these 'warnings' and almost every time am able to find it's bogus in one way or another.  We must be kindred spirits.

You are quite welcome Judi, That site has saved me from falling for some of the Urban Legends out there...but the funny thing is...my mom has e-mailed a couple of major Urban Legends & when I sent her the link & told her the stuff wasn't true...she got upset with me for pointing it out. I tried to explaine to her that many many of those are just phishing for large mailing lists so they can send more of that kind of spam out:(

Sure there are 2 way mirrors...but that one was just a Phish story
