Oh dear, I now am very tempted: Malko's mum heard someone in her town has a friend searching a familly for some Persian kittens for free!
I love so much Persian cats...
No need to tell you I deadly want to see these kittens.
On monday, we will go to Malko's parents and his mum will go with us to see if we can meet the kittens.
Is that serious to have a cat in such a small flat????
Only 45 square meters...
But that's a Persian and Persian are known to get easily used to life in an apartment.
Fingers crossed a kitty will not be naughty towards my so numerous bears: definitely impossible to get my bears out of a cat's reach!
I look forward to be on monday.
I'll keep you posted about it!
I will try not to forget to take my camera with me on monday.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Oh, how exciting! I hope you bring one home! I love cats, they're great, soft, friends to keep around, and they seem to have an interest in bears. One of my cats insists upon "meeting" every bear I make.
Have fun!
Hi Sophie
A kitty! How wonderful!! I do trust my cats around my bears. My dogs? That is a different thing! Here are two pictures of my my cats. They are 5 years old ( a boy and a girl ). He (the dark grey and white ) is such a lover boy!! He loves to be with you and be love! She is more calm and lady like.
Please show us pictures.
Bear hugs.
Gladys
I love kitties too...in case you hadn't figured that out about me. A kitty is a good thing and they can be taught   to leave those precious bears alone!!!
Good Luck...I hope you find the purrfect little one to add to your family!!!
Sophie, how exciting!!!
I too live in a flat and I have 2 cats. They come and go as they please as we put a cat flap in the front door. Perhaps you could do the same?
 I so hope you get one of the kittens Sophie!! Persians do indeed adapt beautifully to living in small places, and you can train them to walk on a leash with a harness for outdoors. My friend who used to breed Persians did that with her stud cat. He was firmly convinced everyone he met loved him! He would even hop up under their hands to get petted
Of course you know the most important thing with the Persians is to brush, brush, brush them...but you know the breed and probably have your brush and comb at the ready
Also they have a couple of windows that they love . They can look out and see the bugs and birds and other critters coming through the yard. We have special pillows for them to lie on the back of a small couch and look out the living room. And then a rocker by the bedroom window covered in a large quilt....Qwatzu loves to stare out the windows. Suki could seem to care less....but it is offered.
I used to allow my cats to roam. But I don't anymore. In cities they are at the mercy of mean children, dogs and cars.
Here in the forest there are other 4 legged critters
and fine feathered friends who would view these two as a lucious light lunch, or an appetizer at night.
So all in all it just seems better to keep my babies safe inside.
BUT
having 2 cats in the house can lead to .....SMELLS
There is a nifty cat box that scoops the used litter out. I would be so lost without this treasure. And I line the collection tray with a 4 gallon plastic bag so that it is easy to remove and dispose of and replace the bag. It is also cheaper than changing the whole tray....that's expensive!!!
Then there are all sorts of cat litter. And you have to try them to decide which will work best.
We like the multi cat formula that is put out by Arm and Hammer. But there are a gazzillion on the market, so you can find one you like I am sure.
Toys...you can buy toys or you can give them cheap stuff they will love. Kwatzu loves pipecleaners. 1 rolled up into a round ball keeps him happy for days. Suki's toy of choice is crumpled paper. They have also been known to steal mini bears that I am working on. It took me 2 weeks to find a head they had taken...something to keep in mind.
I love a cheap furbaby.
You can do it. and you will find it very rewarding. I have found that they expect to be included in everything....we do draw the line at canoodeling,
one word of advice, serious advice.
don't ever ever ever feed them in the morning. if you do they will expect to be fed the minute they think morning arrives. Midnight....1 am.....2 am.......3am.........
nope.....
I learned the hard way. So officially meal time is noon.....but that gives me leeway, and boy does Kwatzu lay his ears back and run like a gazelle when I loose my patience and scream YOU'RE EARLY.....
He thinks he should be the official time keeper. which brings me to my next work of advice. never let the furbabies think they are in charge. it can be as bad as the gollies thinking they are.
Of course, who am I to talk here in the gollyhouse, which is absolute mayhem 90% of the time.
good luck!
hugs
I hope you get a persian kitty! Show us pictures on Monday! :photo: :photo:

Thanks for the so kind adices, girls!
We already had a cat a few years ago, but not a Persian: an european cat who did not enjoy living in a flat and ended up moving to the house of Malko's parents, who have a big garden and house.
The poor darling did not have a very long life though, has he was hit by a car when he was only 4 years old.
My own arents had a blue Persian cat when I was a very young child but soon after my brother's birth, they had to part with him because of my brother's asthma.
Still one day to wait...
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hope you get your kitty !! I have 2 also . Here are mine !!
Let us see it when you get it !!

Hope you get the kitty, Sophie . . . I LOVE cats! And dogs, too.
Oh, I hope you get one of the kittens. I can't wait to see pics. Baby kitties are just the sweetest things ever!
Oh Jodi your cats are gorgeous and they look so well behave! One of your cats looks like my Zippy. Mines are Zippy and Tiny what are yours names? My Zippy's face markings are different, she has the nose divided in half ( right at the center ) one side light color and the other half dark divide by a darker line. Mines will not sit like yours in the picture too often! They do quarrel and my dog Mag ( a Cocker Spaniel) is the referee!! Is a Zoo in this house!!
Thanks for sharing
Gladys
We got a phone call from Malko's mom: the two kitties are still available for adoption and we will go tomorrow evening to meet them and choose one. the mther cat is a Persian cat, but not the father. There is a black kitten that looks like the mom and a grey kitten very cute, according to what we were told.
I can barely wait!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
:photo: Sophie pictures are a MUST!! :photo: Can't wait to see the little darlings
Isn't she back yet?
I hope she got both of them....watching them play is so much fun....they get into more trouble in pairs too.......
Sophie.....where are you.....
dilu
Dilu, honey, did you forget there is a 7 hour difference between our countries?
We are still monday here and it's 8:25 pm.
We will be visiting the cats tomorrow after 6:00 pm...
Don't worry, I won't forget my camera.
I wish we could afford to take the two kittens be our flat is too tiny and one will be enough.
So be patient, girls!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Good morning ( or good evening! ) We like kitties soooo much that we can not wait to see them!! It is true that taking the two will be so ideal! My cats are brother and sister and, when they are left at home ( you go shopping or just out,, ) they keep company to each other but, you know what is better for you, even if i am sure a "few" of us in here, will want to be close and take the other!!
Make God help you to pick the right one for you.
Ok here I go to clean house ( Bummer!! ) and take pictures of the Gollies I finished.
Bear hugs and Golly smiles.
