Who else besides Ontario is having this severe heat wave? The weather is 36 C, but with humidity it's like 48 C!!! My cats won't even stick their noses outside, but I never said they were stupid! Honestly, I can't wait until fall, even with the A/C! It' was at the top of my list when looking for a house, too. My flowers have grown so much in a week, it's like a jungle!!! How's everyone else doing?
hugs,
Brenda
Brenda,
As I'm sitting here in the cool air conditioning, I see it it 107 heat index here in the Midwest USA ... grass is brown, so no mowing ...just the weeds are surviving. Suppose to cool off Thursday ...Yeah !!! Sunday the heat index was 113 .... whew!!!
Wanda
Current Conditions in my area:96° F / Feels like: 110° F. We're expected to get a high of 102 F.
It's a technical heat wave in my area...it's disgusting. It sucks the air right from your lungs. I just got back from a home improvement store and simply walking on the blacktop paving for 2 minutes was dreadful.
STAY COOL AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER FOLKS!!!

DRINK WATER!!! No better advice could be given. Well, stay where it's cool, no physical activity, blah, blah... common sense but easy to think we're invincible... we are, aren't we??
It's 98 F here in New England.... even hotter in Boston!! (Chrissi, how'd you do that degree symbol??)
Inside it's a cold 68 with the A/C... I have socks and a sweatshirt on... how crazy is that????
Tucker goes out and seeks the closest spot of shade and lies down, that's it. Smart dog!!
The British heatwave has come and gone where I live - it's raining.......AGAIN!!!!!
Stay cool guys.....
Wow, heat wave is HOT for you guys! I would die. I really would. We don't have alot of houses with A//C here, just doesn't get that hot. Sure it's warm, even a little hot, but I don't envy you guys at all!
Although, in winter, I'll show pics of our SNOW!
Very hot here in OHIO ( USA) You step out side and it is like breathing watter !! Sooooooooooo hot in the high 90's .
The air is running all the time, I pray it doesn't stop. It is an old system so lift up a prayer it keeps working !!
Keep cool every one !! Be safe !!
I will share a picture to cool you down and bring a smile to your face . Bear hugs !!

Bumble bee love coming your way !!
Glad everyone is okay. I agree with you, Chrissi - it does suck the air out of you when you go outside! I wanted to ask you how far Bucks county is from Lancaster county? We love the Lancaster area and usually go down twice a year but with the move, we haven't made it yet this year. We are hoping to go for 5 days in September. Take care.
hugs,
Brenda
My son lives in Manhatten,(totally insane) and a couple weeks ago I told him to stock up on water, like 20 gallons, and food he wouldn't need to heat. He's got a fiance to take care of, and that's the last place you want to be in a grid shutdown.
Innocent that he is, at 31?, writes back and says
Dilu,
I deal better with losing hydro in the winter time, than in the summer. Our gas stove heats our house, if the power goes off in the cold weather. we can use snow to keep food cold and cook with barbecues and camp stoves. It's actually do-able. If we lost power in this heat, I don't know how I would cope with the heat.
Hubby drinks nothing but bottled water, so we always have at least 6-8 cases in store. I'm a tea drinker in both hot and cold weather. I hope your son heeds your warnings, Dilu, as I wouldn't want to be in NYC in a power outage, in this weather! I think it's supposed to break here tomorrow - hope so!
hugs,
Brenda
Daphne-I have no idea how to make the little circles  I did a cut and paste from the weather channel!
Brenda- Bucks county is only a little over an hour from Lancaster, hour and a half if traffics bad. When we were kids my parents loaded us in the car all year round for "day trips" to Lancaster. The fall is a great time to visit PA. Bucks county is nice because most of the historic value is still here and original. I'm about 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia, again tons of history (Sue Ann's photos showed a lot of that). And if it's later September and if the weather cooperates the "leaves changing" is so pretty. It's my favorite time of year!! NO HEAT
Dilu- The grids going out is the worst thing possible!! My brother in law was caught up in that a few years back....people were sleeping on the sidewalks out side of their buildings for relief.(if you can imagine that was relief from stifling hot buildings). He was stuck in the city because of transit being out and wound up staying with a coworker. Stocking up on water is smart!!

Daphne-I have no idea how to make the little circles I did a cut and paste from the weather channel!
So that's why you sounded just like a weather woman!
With all this talk of grid shut downs I'm beginning to see an advantage to living in the middle of no where.
Chrissi,
We try to get to Lancaster every fall - we love that time of year and it's not as crowded. We are quite familiar with the local area but have never gone as far as Bucks county. Maybe we should do some investigating.

Brenda,
It can't hurt to look into it! Nice towns to walk around are Doyelstown, New Hope, Lambertville. You could hit each of those in one day easily, they're all within 10-20 minutes of each other. Each has it's own historic sites, restaurants, and shopping. Antiques are big in Lambertville. Doyelstown has the tile works, fonthill, and Mercer Museum for tours. New Hope is just across the Delaware River from Lambertville (via walking bridge). It's a cool place...it's very eclectic. You'll find everything from high end antiques to a used record shop frequented by new age high school hippies . Look into it online and let me know if I can help you out in anyway.
(If you like Outlet shopping Flemmington NJ is not far from the New Hope area)
