Hi all - CONGRATULATIONS to our Nominees! Berta Hesen-Minten is also on the short list, as well as recognized names from most of our yahoo bear lists. SOoo pleased to count you all as Friends!

Someone (Judi? - cannot find it in the flurry of Topics & posts..) asked about the timing and the magazine feature. Going on my past experiences of nominations and awards from the Japan Teddy Bear Club International I can relay this (I don't read anywhere that things have drastically changed)

You are to send your entry to Japan now. They will not be in a magazine feature until about the time that the award winners are **publicly' announced.

The nominees will be on display in Japan for about 5 months, until their Festival is over in Mar/Apr 2007. That's why this year's work is titled TITA 2007. The magazine, which they will send to the nominees & winners, will show the beautiful, clear, large, 4-sided displays that showcase the nominated bears. Unlike most comps (e.g., Golden George - where the pieces are "rather" crowded together with viewing from just the front) The viewing public can examine the nominees in close-up and from all sides. It's the best award viewing I've ever seen!

**"Publicly announced - No the actual winners don't have to wait until next Spring! You will be sent an email late this Fall/early Winter, but are SWORN to not reveal the info until AFTER the official announcemts. They take this very seriously - AND IT'S ABOUT THE HARDEST THING TO DO!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Bobbie.

In the nomination email I received from Japan, we have to have our pices sent by the end of August.  The mail is pretty fast to Japan so I'll be shipping my pieces the day I return from the bear show San Diego.  I want to take two of my three nominees with me.

They also told me that I would get my pieces back in April of 2007...and I have a feeling they will be well cared for (watered, fed, cuddled, loved, and protected from becoming 'lost').
