I'm just messing with my website.  I am supposed to be taking a vacation from bears for a couple of weeks, but I made 3 this past week ( oops !)  I couldn't help it, hubby took the kids on a little vacation for 4 days to give me some space and I was so inspired I couldn't help myself.   bear_grin  I am hoping to get some ideas for more bears in the works today.  Jodi your new bears looks cute  !

Bears?  Nope.  Not until the end of the month.  I have a house full of guests.  Today I'm working on last minute details for the wedding and getting the house ready for the rehearsal dinner this evening.  Tomorrow is the big day!!

Warmest bear hugs,

bear_original More Mice, and a new Rat pattern, whilst listening to an audiobook version of Great Expectations.

Still struggling with myself over whether to shade my Classic Challenge bear or leave him as is.

I'll probably shade.

Aleta, your little bear-in-progress looks adorable. Best wishes for the Wedding. It's going to be wonderful . . . we want piccies :photo:

I'm making a sock monkey.  Don't know why; just got the urge to make something really, REALLY different and whimsical and funky.  If it turns out nicely I'll share pics when I'm done.

Aleta... have fun and good luck with the wedding!  It's almost over!

Working on the web site (the never ending story isn't just a movie!!), just finished business cards and a brochure....now moving onto the bear that's sitting deflated on the studio table!  Poor mister has a finished head and a big old flat body
I can't take a picture...he's too embarrassed, being headless and all.  Says come back tomorrow..has to pull himself together first bear_grin

I think I might try another classic challenge bear...or work in my garden some to prepare for the fall....it's a mess....or sit and read my book "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion....or absolutely nothing.

My day as yet does not involve bears,  dogs are taking my time.  My son called me from his work this morning.  They found a young German Shepherd.  I went to get the dog.    He is beautiful.  He is obviously purebred, about 1 year old.  If we can't find his owners, I really want to keep this dog.  My shepherd died last fall, and I miss him so much.  My problem is my other dog, Anthony Thomas.  Anthony is not too happy about this whole situation (he is down right mean about it).  So if anyone has any suggestions on how to introduce these two without bloodshed, please help.

work-in-progress-sized.JPGHere's a picture of the little bear I'm working on. Just need to do the other leg and attach and then some detail work and accessories so shouldn't take long now - if I get off the computer that is!  bear_grin
P.S. your bear's head looks great, Jodi
P.P.S. Good luck with the wedding tomorrow, Aleta!

Oooh yes Aleta, I hope you all have a fantastic day!!    bear_wub

I've been up to my new hobby today, I made my first Raggedy Annie - oh no, I feel another obsession coming on - FAST!!   bear_whistle  It was such fun, I've aged years!!   Well, aged 'Annie' anyway!!   bear_laugh   Sorry it's not a wonderful pic, I'm dog sitting my parents dog this weekend, and she's 15, very decrepid and blind.   She hates storms (we've had a few this week) and I took the picture and she went bananas as she thought the flash was lightening and was petrified - bless her!!  I feel really guilty now!! bear_cry

It is Saturday morning here and I am doing all those chores that need doing - walking the dog, washing and vacumning the house etc.

thanks for sharing all the photos of your bears that you are working on... all  adorable.
I am hoping to get around this afternoon to finishing a bear for friends of ours that have just had a little baby daughter - Lucy.
I have pale pink ribbon and lace so I am looking forward to doing that.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

I am finishing my third incarnation of a Kewpie/BettyBoop styled faced golly but with a head that is joined and a body that seems like a baby body but is a little bigger than my normal gollies.....

I think I have the head down now but I'm still ambinalent about the body....but I did get to needle scuplt some dimples in her fat little hand.... c032.gif

She has her knickers on but her dress isn't quite done yet, so I can't show a piccy-you know how modest gollies are.....

Nina, it's never easy, and I've never read any advice that really seems to work. Some say to strictly control the new dog's access to the house. Some say to stand back and let them work it out.

A one-year-old is still a pup, so it may be that your older dog is just reading him the riot act, which is pretty standard stuff, though sometimes scary-looking.

My 15-year-old Lucy and new -6-year-old Border Collie Bear are still working on it. Neither really dominates, but each gives in on some things and stand firm on others. The current debate is on which of them gets to guard/eat the cat food!

The only thing that I did that seemed to help was to pull them both close to  me, shut them up with a biscuit, and just talk to them quietly for several minutes with one arm around each. I can't remember what I said, exactly, but it hardly matters. I was trying to established myself as the leader who loved them both, but wouldn't take  sides.

Spending one-on-one time with each dog separately also seems to help.

In any case, don't give up. Dogs are always manoeuvering for a higher spot in the pack, and they DO work it out.

Clare...your Raggedy Annie is wonderful.  I love Raggedy Ann and have been kicking myself all over  for the past year when I decided on a whim to sell my Georgene's on Ebay...I made a mint but still regret it.

I'd love to have one of yours when you are ready to adopt them out.  Keep me in mind!!!

Today is now yesterday...and I worked for the most part in the salon..but managed to leave a bit earlier than usual and got home and finished  the  bear that I had drawn the body and limbs  freehand onto the fabric..I am now kicking myself because I love the look and will have to try to make this pattern again...this time as a permanent one....

But now it's Saturday 6.10am and I have my first client at 7.30am..then I'm coming home to do my other bear.

What a fun thread!

I'm working on two bears ... one for a customer who ordered it as a present for her birthday next week and the other for my show in two week's time ... I'll take pics and post them a bit later!

I am working on bears for Hugglets, as most of my bears were sold in Switzerland.  Earlier on I was moving pot plants around the swimming pool. We had the pool fibre glass lined and a water feature put in, the sun deck still needs to be finished.
Hubby has returned from the Post Office with a pile of post so I will go thru that , have some tea, then sit and do all the hand work on the bears and with one eye on the TV.

That will be my Saturday and then Sunday it will be more bears and some more
