I'm putting these two days together because it was one trip to Seward for a boat tour. On Thursday, we stopped to eat at Summit Lodge. This is a super great bear bench carved with a chain saw (!!!) in front of the restaurant. The bench was wet (raining AGAIN) so I wasn't sitting!
A beautiful scene at the Summit Lodge Lake
When we arrived at Seward, we went to the Alaska Sealife Center. I took a gazillion photos, but you don't want to see all of them! These are two harbor seals taking life easy . . . no predators to watch out for!
All the diving birds at the sealife center were very active, so most of my shots were a little fuzzy. This is a puffin . . . I LOVE puffins!!!!
Oh my, folks - on day 4 while at Seward we took the Kenai Fyord Boat Tour . . . what a fantastic adventure!!! This is our boat.
On our way to the Aialik Glacier, we saw this rookery - cloudy, misty day again.
Glaciers are sooooo mysterious and absolutely stunningly beautiful! They are basically frozen rivers. If there weren't a cloud cover, the glacier would extend back to an ice field. This is our first glimpse of Aialik.
Three more glacier pictures.
More tomorrow.
Doesn't it look just beautiful Sue Ann. I would have had to bring that bear seat home somehow - its terrific.

Awsome photos Sue Ann. I love the bear bench. Those chainsaw bears are soooo cool. I first saw them in Colorado.... got a picture somewhere. I've always wanted to make one.
The scenery is just awesome and it's always fun to see wildlife. Looks like your having fun in spite of the rain. Looking forward to tomorrow's installment.
What a fantastic trip you had, Sue Ann! I love your gorgeous photographs. You must have two albums' worth!
Here's a puffin for you; it happens to be a critter that's often created by glass beadmakers. Pretty colors! (No, I didn't make this one... found it on the web.)
Sue Anne what a fantastic holiday ... the Fyord looks absolutely awesome.
Love the pictures...wouldn't mind seeing a "gazillion more"!! The bench is so cool. There are 2 artists in my area who do chain saw carving..it's pretty cool stuff!
Wonder what a mohair puffin would look like...hmmmmm
