I am about to sit down to make a bear I WANT to make... not an order... no rules, no limits... this is for fun and to take to Schuamburg in October.

Trouble is.... I don't know what to make!

Do I make a big contemporary bear with colorful kid mohair and a big nose and feet?

Do I make an old fashioned little bear with the new sparse curly alpaca I have?

I'm anxious to make them both and everything in between!!!

HELP!!! bear_wacko  bear_laugh

Give me a suggestion! I've been dying for this moment to make whatever I please and now I'm overwhelmed with the options!!! Life is so rough!

Alpaca...I just adopted a bear made from it and WOW!!!   I love it!!!

Or...toss each piece of fur in the brown paper bag...mix them up...pick one...then you'll know.  You'll either be excited by your blind choice or disappointed that you didn't get the one you really wanted.  It works for me...

Kelly:
First from Gaby off eBay.
Then more from Pro Bear.
Then I decided that was silly as it's Schulte so I called Elke and she got me a piece.
Now it's on Edinburgh's website. http://www.edinburghimports.com/shoppin … 12347R=270
It's a mohair mix which I didn't realize until I just went to get you the link.

Sounds like a time for a new pattern. Try something really different . Step out of the mold. Do something really different with the head pattern. Make the eyes to small the ears tiny and low on the sides. Make it like you are making it for your self, like the one you can't let go because it makes you smile so. The one that no amount of money could get it out of your hands !!! YOU GOT IT IN YOU GIRL FRIEND LET IT OUT !!!! I feel the energy GO FOR IT !!!!!!!

Hello Daphne ~
I vote for a "old fashioned little bear"  bear_flower
but don't trust me because I'm having same problem here ! I really don't know what do I
really want to make....
For me, I'm thinking of creating a 2tones bear....
such as using 2different kid mohair or
1kid mohair and 1 regular mohair or
1mohair and 1 alpaca or
1alpaca and 1mohair....... bear_wacko HELP !

However...according to the my "what to create" list .....I'm making a....
1) Christmas color bear ( green body and brown head )
2) White wedding bears ( traditional dressed bear using kid mohair)
3) Panda bears (colorful bears)
4) Something with new technique bear  bear_tongue

sorry for no-help.

hugs
Marie

Kim - I did make a Tucker, a few of them!! :)
One of them is shown in this post: http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=4514
And here's another one: http://www.backroadbears.com/wheatenfull.jpg
They look totally differrent from eachother!

Well, I went into my closet after some colorful mohair and found all of it to be pastel in color.... late fall is not the time of year for pastel bears, in my opinion... which is when this one will be up for sale. SO.... I'm going with a two-tone bear in yummy fall colored kid mohair and have a gorgeous verigated embroidery yarn to use for his nose. I'm using an existing pattern.... sorry Jodi! The old fashioned bear that I do next will be a new pattern so be prepared for some laughs!

OR I could make a pink bear...... I do have an order for one. Aw, heck, see????

Stick with the two-toned bear. After all, weren't you excited to be making a bear that you wanted to be making...not an order!

Cool choice and good that you are getting stuck into it too and doing a bear for you.  It gets the fun back into it   I had to laugh at the bunny comment lol...anything but that right ;)
