Oh Darling Deb.....I never overlook a massage.....it really really helps, and my hubby has learned how to do pretty well, I must say.

I took a course to become a certified massage therapist....just to learn how to do it.  Love it!  i used to get one every week when I worked.  Not something i can afford every week now but the hubs is cheap!    Aww, hes such a sweetie!

And than heavens for the spa....it really helps.  When we moved here and decided this was our little retirement home he put one in...we use it every morning in the summer and 2x a day in the winter.....
kind a hard to get in it in the evening when it is 100 outside.....

I wasn't going to mention this but now after Jenn's comment about going to work not being able to move her head I thought maybe I should. Not sure if it would apply to you Dilu and I don't know what your problem is Jenn but this worked wonders for me.
I was suffering incredible neck pain constantly for close to a year after considerable treatment by doctors, physiotherapists, specialists, etc. for a problem that started from tennis elbow and exacerbated. I even had to quit bear making - well actually that's when I switched to minis - as I couldn't stuff bigger bears as I had no strength in either arm (couldn't lift a coffee cup with either hand at my worst and had to drink my coffee through a straw - how sad is that!) as well as the constant neck pain. Anyway on the advice of a friend I looked into NUCCA  (National Upper Cervical Chiropratory Association) Chiropractory and after a series of treatments for about 6 weeks I have been 100% cured of both the arm and neck problems and have been pain free for over 5 years! I have always been a bit leery of Chiropractors as the thought of some of the "cracking spines" etc. seemed scary to me but NUCCA is totally different and nothing is done on spec - you have detailed measurements and X-rays taken first  to determine the problem and the manipulation to adjust the upper cervical vertabrae is extremely gentle. Unlike normal Chirpractory you don't have to keep going back every week once you have finished the session. I only go back now if I do something to put my neck out again or if I want to confirm that everything is staying in alignment, and haven't needed any adjustment in a couple of years.
As I said I don't know if this would help either of you, Dilu or Jenn, but it might be another possibility to investigate. The practioners here are very good about telling you up front if they think they can do anything to help you.

WOW Edie, how awful for the suffering but how great you are doing so much better!  Way to go!!!

I am scheduled for an MRI Tuseday morning-I want to see what that looks like, I will insist on seeing the films before I leave, and put it into my gameplan for how to proceed.

some doctor's hate me, thank heaven's my PCP loves me....cuz I really do insist on researching everything before proceeding....even medications.

I want to know everything before i take something new-That's why I'm such a fan of the older drugs.  They are much more tried and true than the "LATEST

I am scheduled for an MRI Tuseday morning-I want to see what that looks like, I will insist on seeing the films before I leave, and put it into my gameplan for how to proceed.  Yeah I know a radiologist will read them, but i want to see them....there is so much to be learned....

I want to know everything before I take something new-That's why I'm such a fan of the older drugs.  They are much more tried and true than the "LATEST-GREATEST-NEW-HOT-OFF-THE-PRESSES"  type drugs.

And there is no way on God's Green Earth that our doctor's can remember everything every patient takes and every piossible side effect and interaction problem these drugs might have.

The Pharamcys have wonderful computer programs now that run all that through-and I think it is an invaluable service pharacies offer now.....

Jenn-take care sweetie.....if you can't walk away from the stress.....just remember to keep breathing deeply.

Try it....it is hard to stay stressed if you breathe slowly and deeply.  usually our first stress reaction is to start breathing quite shallowly....then out gut muscles tense....the gut muscles cant clench if we breathe slowly and deeply......probably why its such a great tool for medicatation!

BTW Eddie- did your picture just suddenly get put up?  Lovely lady, you!

I am seeing the FDA approve things for over the counter now that really scare me.....because we know there are inherent dangers if the wrong people use them.....like the "morning after" pill-some little 11 year old things she's pregnant because they went a little too far and takes one....but golly just be sure let's take 4 or 5?  I wont be surprised to see some hemmorrage type emergencies happen.....
