the email I received from a lady who was given one of my bears for her birthday and 30th Anniversary...
I know you are aware of how I fell in love with Parker at the Teddy Show in
Melbourne and the subsequent work of Kirsty and John to locate and purchase
him for me, but I thought you might enjoy the story of how John actually
brought the two of us together. It was our 30th. Wedding Anniversary and John and I were out celebrating at
a local restaurant. At some stage of the evening, John excused himself
supposedly to go to the loo. He returned, put an extra chair at our table
and announced he'd met someone out the back who was going to come and join
us. You can imagine my surprise - WHO had he met in the toilet (of all
places) and WHY would he invite this person to join us? Quizzing him got me
nowhere. The next thing I knew the waitress walked up and placed Parker on
the extra chair!
I naturally couldn't keep back the tears - it was such a wonderful surprise.Anyway, Parker is now a much loved member of our family, so I wanted to
thank you for making him and helping to make our 30th. a memorable event.Since then I have finally achieved one of my goals, to make a teddy myself -
yesterday I completed "Molly" and am really chuffed with my first attempt.
Looks like I'm hooked now!
I had tears when I read how they were united.. doesn't it make our work worth while when it makes people this happy.
What a lovely story!! You must be so pleased to hear that one of your bears made the couple's wedding anniversary so special - and what a romantic way to introduce Parker - most men I know wouldn't want to be sat in a restaurant with an extra chair for a bear!!!! How sweet!
Patsy, oh, how I loooove stories like this !
