Has any one ever thought about designing a pattern , then making it , then trading your pattern with one person to see what they do with it and they do the same thing at the same time? I think it would be fun to see what happens. If a mimi artist trades with some one who does bigger bears it could be shrunk down . And if some one who does larger bears ...well the pattern could be bumped up. Then If we ever sell any thing off of that pattern we could say it was designed by --------- --------- but made by you, maybe stating it was a Teddy Talk Project.( pulling more people to this sight) Or It could be something never sold. What ever the two artists agree on . But don't show the bear until both bears are done. It could also be another animal if you are unconfortable doing a bear.
Just thinking....... you know how us creative people are.

Interesting idea!!! Time consuming... a good mid-winter's project for me! With challenges and swaps here and shows coming up I'm on over load but would love to do this say... after the holidays! Perhaps we can play again then??
How do you do the swaps? I would be interested .
Jodi, I've answered in your other post on this... :)
Like Daphne, I also like your idea -- a lot, actually -- but usually don't have time for swaps or "play" because bearmaking (and offshoots from bearmaking, like my blooming design business) is an important income source for me, and I need to sell my work to pay my bills.

Sorry I asked the same question about bear swaps but I guess I did not see the answer soooooooooooooo I still don't know. I guess you all come up with a time to join so I will wait till the next one, in less there is one going on now.
Sorry you are to busy to have some fun. Maybe later some time. I work a full time job in retail and do my business on the side.... but I don't travel at this point because I work most weekends. So I don't have the Shows hanging over me any more, but I do remember that PRESSURE. Sorry if I offended you in some way. For sure I never meant to .

Shelli,
SOOOOOOOOOO sorry I just now saw your answer......silly me I thought you meant you told me before weeks ago
I am going back and read it . Again sorry dearie !!! Just a matter of bad timimg !!!
Oh, no apology necessary. Another one of those, "I'm thinking one thing, you're thinking another" moments. Happens. No worries.
Just want to clarify, though, that when it comes to living life, I'm never too busy to have fun. I have lots of fun. Too much fun, sometimes. That's what life's about; those little moments of hedonism and joy. Right?
It's just that I can't swap teddy bears, which are my financial lifeblood and take me ages to create, for fun. Because that's my job, and when that work is over for the day I do something ELSE!
Hi Shelli
I too would like to know how to 'swap', but I can“t find that other post where the answer is?
I can't find it now either. Maybe Jodi deleted it, and with it, my response?
Anyway, the gist of what I wrote earlier is that swaps aren't "offical" forum undertakings, so members have to arrange them privately. By that I mean, it's historically been okay for people to post a thread here at TT saying something like, "Anybody want to do a fall bear swap?...
... but TT itself isn't ever involved in arranging, tracking, monitoring, or otherwise handling the swap in any way.
The person who asks the question and who's seeking out participants usually takes on the joy -- and headache! -- of coordinating that list of participants, matching them up with one another "fairly," and making sure that everyone actually GETS a bear out of their efforts. Sometimes, "thing happen," often for good and valid reasons, and so the coordinator of the swap assumes the job of smoothing that out to every participant's satisfaction.
In short, if you want a swap, ask if anyone is interested, and be ready to take on the job of organizing it!
Hope that helps! It's not a big deal to answer this twice, by the way. I just happened to answer it in a thread in which Jodi asked directly... and then I referred her to THAT answer in another thread in which it came up less directly... and so on. Let's leave THIS one standing for future reference!
Sorry I did deleat it by mistake !!! I went Whoops !!!!!! I will leave this alone !!!!
