No one has responeded to my last couple of posts.  Did I offend someone?  I posted the other day. No responce.  I posted a swap idea. No response.  I hope I didn't upset anyone.  For all of you who are going through tough times, many hugs and much love.

not that I know of Jenn!!! I will go and check out your other posts

No Jenn I don't think so, regarding your September 11th post I am sure that everyone will be doing that, and everyone probably thought that it was just a request to do and no response needed.
Your request in the swap about the crochet blanket was answered by Heather a few posts later so don't worry bear_flower  I don't think you have upset anyone....could possibly be that without an avatar you kind of blend in to the text a bit instead of standing out!!! I could help you with that if you would like....

Hi Jenn,

Krista is right..... you need an avatar! bear_thumb
Without an avatar, website, bear photo, something for us to identify you by I think we feel like we don't know you! I wouldn't know Krista if I bumped into her on the street but I'd know her if she was holding one of her bears or a picture of her avatar!!!

We're visual people....... we need to SEE you or something that represents you!

But, I don't think you've done anything wrong. And that shouldn't be a reason for any of us not repsonding to you. The Sept. 11 post..... it's sort of a dreaded rememberance to many, I'm sure, and the media beats it to death every year around that time. Never mind that we've been at war ever since and so many have continued to loose their lives since that day BECAUSE of that day. How could we forget? And most, whether reminded to or not, do SOMETHING on that day in rememberance anyway.... have been the last 4 years! So your request will be carried out in a sense!

I agree about Sept 11th  I come from a multi generational millitary family.  It is impossible to forget that aweful day.  As far as an identifying pic.  I do not have good pics of my bears.

My bears have all found homes in swaps I have yet to sell a bear as I am not comfortable yet.

I totally agree, being Canadian, and being still in the military (Canadian Navy) myself at the time of Septemer 11th 2001, I totally understand what people are feeling, and how the world truly changed that day.
As for your avatar, how about something in your life that a cool avatar could be made out of, like Daphne a pet maybe? Or one of your favorite pictures, maybe not even bear related....I can resize it for you!!! And no I don't charge for this I enjoy it!! and like helping out friends.

Hugs,
Krista

I have to say Jenn...That I am guilty of flicking through posts and only ever responding when I feel an urge to. ...to limit how much time I am on here really.

I never get involved with swaps...not because I don't want to...but because I can't..I have to sell my bears...it's my living...so I guess rather than reply to requests I just try not to look so I don't feel bad!!

So apologies to you Jenn...I have been on other boards where I too have posted and haven't  even got one reply..and so I know how it feels.

Awe Jenn Hon! You could never do anything wrong. I too am very guilty for not always replying to the many wonderful posts. I guess it is mainly because of being too busy or maybe that I am just plain lazy. Sometimes I don't feel I have any input worthy of reading.

As far as swaps, I too am busy and I could not even think of participating in one. I have tried to make our business my living as well. Some day my Darling Hubby would love to retire. Oh gosh!! Ha Ha Ha not that we could ever live off of the bears! Oh heavens NO!!! Only that maybe it might contribute to his pension income for groceries or utilities. You know, in a megar way!

No No honey, nothing wrong at all ,A BIG HUG I SEND TO YOU.  I have had posts that there are slow responses to and I start thinking the same thing. I share allot of pictures mainly because I like to see other peoples pictures in return so some times I feel people are getting sick of me .... but I really don't think that is the case. People just get busy and can't answer every thing, every day. So just keep sharing......We are out here looking. Most people just look and don't answer. Just look at  the number of people that look at the posts , then look at replies. So don't worry dearie.

Jenn,

I did not think to respond to your Sept. 11 post.  I just assumed it was a request.  But, I will be flying a flag that day in memory of those who lost their lives and those who put their lives on the line to help others.  I don't think you have offended anyone.  It seems everybody is just so busy.  I know I have been swamped with everything except bears.  It is the end of the summer so that means hours in the kitchen for me.  I have been so busy canning and preserving things out of the garden.  I am now getting ready to leave today for a small family vacation to Virginia (I need it).  I guess I better get off of here and get to work.  Hopefully things will calm down now and I can be more bear minded.

I'm not offended. Sorry you felt ignored Jenn. bear_sad  I know wasn't intentional. Personally, between my slow dial-up connection which isn't always reliable, trying to get some bears made and just generaly being busy, I simply can't keep up with all the posts. Sometimes I just don't have anything useful to contribute and sometimes I just plain old miss things. Rest assured, we luv ya girl!

Thanks guys.  I know about being so busy one can not think!  The swap was not bear related.  I thought it would be good to show off our other talents.

I ditto the sentiment here Jen.   I can only speak for myself but I am starting to feel  pressure to finish custom orders and get my bears ready for the next set of competitions. Plus school starts next week.....

Where does the time go?

We would to see an avatar.  Just post a photo of your favorite bear.  It does not have to be a fancy graphic. bear_thumb  bear_thumb  bear_thumb

I too am guilty of not posting...TT has gotten so big with so many wonderful members it's hard to respond to EVERYONE and I hold a bit of guilt that I don't...in fact...I don't even try.  I sometimes don't even read everything because I just can't be on the computer that long.

But, I understand...it's hard to not take it a bit personal when we've been here since early on and just about everyone posted on every thread every time.

Have a great day...and get yourself an avatar... bear_original bear_original

Oh Jenn - I'm sorry you feel ignored.  Its just that there's so much information on here now and new people joining and everyone being busy - I'm afraid I'm guilty of limited posting.  I tend to PM people - particularly if its personal - then they can control if and/or when to reply.  Sometimes points made in a very long thread can be overlooked.  If you look at the threads I've started - they haven't generated the interest that many others have.  I figured I was just boring.  I tend not to jump into the technical threads because I feel it presumptive on my part - There are many others on TT with superior skills and experience so I read, mark, learn and inwardly digest.  The bottom line is I'm shy- Please don't feel ignored - that's awful.

Ditto what everyone else said.  I'm running two little home businesses and trying desperately to get a third off the ground, while raising three boys and doing the whole wife thing on top of that.  So I read, read, read, and post when I feel really compelled or when there's a need for some Advisor type input, and can't get to every post.

Sorry you felt slighted.  I also know how that feels as I am basically a pariah on the glasswork forum where I visit occasionally; it's hard not to feel unliked or unpopular when it's likely just much more the case that you're less visible, because you don't have an avatar.  That visual clue really does help identify people!

Oh Jenn, don't EVER think that! I missed both your other posts as I haven't been on TT much lately at all as we have had so much company visiting and that has taken all my time. I know how disappointing it is to post something expecting a reponse and to get none but I am SURE it is not personal - just too many other things getting in the way and it is definitely very easy to miss posts with so many on here. Big hugs to you!

  bear_flower Jenn, Jenn, you sweet girl--

I'm guilty too of the read-and-run lately.

Now that my critters are beginning to sell and my students are coming back, I'm feeling a bit swamped.

But I know how you feel . . . At one time I began to think that every post I added to immediately closed.  bear_cry

Then I posted before and after photos of my made-over Pansy Bear--many looked, but nobody responded for a loooong time.

I decided that it must be one of four things: 1) People  thought Pansy stank
                                                               2) Peple thought I stank
                                                               3) People were busy
                                                               4) People just didn't have anything to say

Then I remembered all the kindness I've experienced on TT, and decided that it didn't matter anyway!

Somebody had better post something after mine, or I'll know I'm the post-killer for sure

Jenn I don't think there is anyone here who doesn't at some time quickly read and run.

Everyone has busy lives and it's hard to post on everyone's thread. We  bear_wub you and you haven't offended anyone as you can see by all the responses you have received this time.

For me, it's back to the show bears!

And yes, do take Krista up on her offer of an avatar!

I don't think anyone is ignoring you either, girl!  I think having an avatar will help out (your posts kind of hide because there isn't a beautiful bear pic next to your posts)... Get one of your bear pics up there, girl!
