Happy designing !! let the fur fly !!!
Hope the weather in central Ohio is better than here in the Cincinnati area! Or else you'll need a a raincoat and some hip waders!!! Good luck and stay dry!
On a Friday???
All the garage sales around here are on Saturdays and Sundays. And it's gonna rain here all weekend. :(
Wish we lived closer.... I need a yard sale buddy!
Hubs has a phobia of them with a very strange uncontrolable physical response... his foot automatically presses down on the accelerator just as hard as it can when he sees a 'Yard Sale' sign!
Really, on a Sunday? Around here they are on Fridays and Saturdays. I always assumed nobody did Sundays because of church. My mom is my yard sale buddy. And our feet have opposite reaction of your husband's!
Good Luck, Jodi. Hope you find lots of goodies.
well, it's alright for some innit????
Galavanting off looking for bargains on a Friday afternoon - you lucky old thing, i love a rummage sale!

My whole family are garage sale hounds. Just so you know, some sales some start on Thursday... Now a hint for all who are serious about this. You need to start out very early...say 7:00 am...to get the good stuff. Antique dealers are out there sometimes earlier. But, garage salers are an interesting breed...for estate sales that advertise yummy stuff, one can find cars parked out all night just to be the first in....how do I know you may ask? Well My aunt Patty is a dealer and when I visit, I often find myself keeping her company....alllllll nightttttt longgggg. By the time the sale starts I'm tired, hungry and have to pee....

That's so funny....and exactly how I feel!!!
Sarahjane, I´m glad that I´m not alone! LOL I could make gazillions if I sold all the stuff that I don´t need anymore, don´t want anymore or don´t know what to do with
I drive a big car and last week I drove 6 times to the junk yard with rubbish from the cellar....today I stood down there, wondering, WHERE I had kept all this stuff, because it does not look a tick different than one week ago.
Gaby
Gaby, you are too funny. If you live in a garage sale, that's totally fun. New 'finds' everyday!
Where I'm from, Garage sales are on Saturday and Sunday. Can't imagine too many people going on Friday as they work.

Exactly!
Though I will say that in the summer, as I live in a summer vacation lake area, that people will have a yard sale any day they want!
Michelle.... I've done a ton of yard sales, I actually used to organize and run them for people (yard sales to teddy bear shows.... hmmmmm....) anyway.... those antique dealers were the worst! No offense but they had no sense of respect for the home owner, the words 'no early birds' and they wanted everything for nothing. They were awful. My boyfriend at the time used to stand guard at the front of the property to keep them out!
Anyway, I do agree that one must arrive as early as respectfully possible for the best selection.
Now I want to go yard saling tomorrow!!!!
So Jodi, How'd ya do? You can't still be out there?

"Any kind of day with a special friend is better than a great day at garage sales!!"
You are right !! And it would be fun if you lived closer, you can never have to many garage sale buddies
I ain't that desparate for the good stuff!

OOOh I love mooching round for bargains..on Thursday I got a leather bag which I have seen in shops for £150 for £5 and I bought a set of louis style bedroom furniture which painted is going to look fantastic for £100. I saw the exact same dressing table in Selfridges painted pink for £1400...and the set had two dressing tables ..I sold one for £100......
That's why I like 'bargain hunting'!!!
Wow, to me, garage sales are another typically American tradition. We don't do that in Sweden or Germany (my home country). People donate their stuff to charity organizations such as the salvation army or they sell to second hand shops. Both the charity shops and the second hand shops may have nice things at lower prices than new, but very far from your great bargains. I fear, the tax office would knock on our door if we did garage sales. They want a piece of any profit we make, no matter how small
Well here in the States, if you sell personal property there is no tax on it.
Jared , come on go to a garage sale with me !!!! I could drag you along !!!!!
