I've sure missed you!  I've been in hiatus, trying to be good to let my finger heal. Its getting there ever so slowly.  In the meantime I've gone from staring at the walls, sleeping a lot, watching videos (translation.....'don't use the hand AT ALL), to ever so slowly, sewing a wee bit on a few teds...discovering that turning them and stuffing was an absolute no no.  To FINALLY being able to turn one large ted for a friend.  Stuffing it and setting back the healing a good week with a solid crack....for those wondering .... I tripped over my own feet lunging a horse and ended up dislocating a pinkie.  A PINKIE of all things!!!!!  Who would have thought such an insignificant finger could end up causing such grief?!?  bear_wacko

Its been six and a half weeks, and I do have to say its healing very well.  The joint is still swollen, and unhappy, but healing on the normal doctor time scale for things.  I'm sure the joint will take longer to heal as its not happy with me pushing it, but it will heal and the swelling will go down.  There's benefits to being trained in shiatsu you know  bear_laugh

On the unfortunate side my kidneys have definitely taken an unhappy turn, and despite best efforts to bond, none of us have really gelled with Lady Bear, including Blossom.  I can often look out and see one girl on one side of the pasture, well away from the other.  So we've made the decision to sell her one afer much soul searching.   I have to say we have nothing definite for her yet, but she's been happy and searching the roads for the trailer ever since we made the decision......so that in its own right tells me we made the right choice for everyone.  bear_happy

I do hope everyone's doing well, and is happily making the fur fly with their exquisite, unique teddy bear ingenuity.  And a special thanks to Bonnie for checking on me and making sure I really was okay    Thanks gal!!!  You really are the best

Hi Deb,
You were missed for sure! There are a few members who seem to have just vanished into thin air!
Sorry about your pinkie problems...that HAS to have been painful!
It's a shame things didn't work out with Lady Bear...better luck next time huh?

Darn right, I missed ya!!  I'm so sorry about your pinkie......OUCH!! bear_cry   I could see the possibility of tripping over ones own feet lungeing a horse (at least for me as I am the Clutz Queen.......you're not after my throne, are you? ).........there's so much else going on, and you're definitely not watching your feet! bear_happy I've done it before, and it's certainly not as easy as it looks.  I was just lucky to be working with a horse already trained in this..........Amber already knew what she was doing so I could learn! bear_grin Now I use the round pen instead........much less complicated for me. bear_wacko

That's too bad about Lady Bear.......she's such a gorgeous horse.  Sometimes that bond just doesn't happen though, no matter how hard we try.  I think your decision was a good one......as you said, for everyone. bear_thumb I really hope things work out for all of you!

Now, be good and keep resting that finger!  bear_grin

Debbie! Nice to see you again!
I was thinking, that your pinkie kept you from here..these tiny wee buggers can cost a lot of pain  bear_grin

Sorry to hear about your kidneys! How much do you drink per day???
And also sorry about your horses...I guess GELLED means something like bonding?
Is it bad, if 2 horses don´t bond? Or do they even kick each other?

Have a smashing day!

Hi Debbie, I was thinking about you the other day actually. As Hayley said there seem to be a few members who have vanished and I was wondering where they were.   Sorry to hear about your finger. Tell Shamus to give it a big kiss and make it all better !!!!!   Sorry to hear that Lady Bear isn't fitting in.  I'm sure you took a lot of care and time making thre decision to sell her.  Goodluck and take care.

  Thanks gals!  You lot really do cheer me up

Actually it's been my pinkie that's really kept me off here for so long.  Its so hard to type and not tweak it again....which stresses it, and makes it take longer to heal ~ bleah

Daphne, Lord Bluebeary's been a wonderful movie buddy!!!  He relaxes on most of the pillows, and I've noticed he won't look at the screen if its a scary movie, but I don't blame him.  We've watched a ton of Disneys in the meantime too.

Tammy, Shamus has certainly kissed my boo bood finger and watches over me in the bear room.  Mostly I think he's scolding me for trying to sew too soon  bear_ermm ....but gosh its hard not to!

Yep, Gaby, gelled does indeed mean bonding.  Mostly the girls stand their ground, but Lady Bear if she pushes things (mostly through nasty looks and sometimes kicking) Blossom will sulkily back off.  They don't kick at each other all the time, but they haven't ever exactly gotten thrilled with the idea of being best of friends either.  More like one of those lukewarm relationships where you're stuck in a doctor's waiting room, trying to be polite. bear_rolleyes

Kidneys have been an ongoing problem for quite some time.  I've gone down several routes chasing stones, changed diets, done all sorts, and I drink well over a gallon of water a day, have for years.  This past year I've turned to acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine, and I have to say, its helped me tremendously.  Seriously I think its what's helped pull me back from the brink so to speak.  I've certainly got a lot more energy than I ever have.

From time to time another kidney stone tumbles down, and they hurt like mad!  Plus there's usually an infection going.  I think that's actually what's been forming the stones, not the stones forming the infection.  I'm currently on an antibacterial herb called P'ao D'arco.  Its improving ever so slowly, but I find if I bend over too long I get waaaaay too dizzy for my own good.  LOL add that to tripping over own feet ...and well Tracy, I may indeed be impinging upon your throne before long  !

Thanks again for the welcome home ladies!   bear_flower I hope to be posting more frequently, as I sure have missed my teddies and Teddy Talk!  bear_wub

Debbie, so sad, that the gals won´t get along  bear_sad  but you´ll find a good new home for the lady.

As for your precious kidney stones: don´t you have the therapie, where they bomb the stones so they fall into wee pieces and then go off to the loo???
