I love this time of year.....the trees are changing colour, my favourite colours are autumn colours, the weather is 'in between' not too hot and not too cold, and we're starting the run up to Christmas..... I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!
What's your favourite time of year??
Fall is also my favorite time of year.
I live in Colorado so I get to enjoy the reds & golds on the Aspen trees. We have wonderful colors of fall . There just seems to be that wonderful feel and smell in the air. I enjoy decorating for Halloween and love the smells of baking for Thanksgiving. So I'm looking forward to the next couple of months for sure!
Well I got married in the Autumn and so this is also a favourite time of year for me too !!!
In my wedding photo's you can see the leaves are turning golden which I think made them all the more special !!!
I'm with you Clare - I love this time of year too !!!
I must admit my thoughts have turned to Christmas too !!!
Hugs
Claire
I do love Autumn for all the luscious colours, but my favourite time of year is Winter - I quite like the cold weather and I LOVE the snow and Christmas!!
Fall and Winter without a doubt!! I love the fall air. There is nothing like a big deep breath of crisp fall night air with little hints of burning leaves. Fall food is the best too...apple crisps, homemade soups and chili, hot tea and chocolate all the time...then the best part for me is the clothes!!! I love jeans, sweaters and a pair of nice warm Uggs. Roll it all into winter with lots of snow on the ground and I'm one happy lady
Christmas is my favorite season and holiday. I try to make as many gifts as I can....most include batches of cookies and my rice crispy treats (3 inch solid blocks dipped in chocolate, topped with mini M&Ms, sprinkles, and drizzles of white chocolate).
It's already nice and cool here at night...it's wonderful!!

I am with you all Autumn is my favorite season, living here in Australia it just doesn't seem the same to me having Christmas in Summer... I do love Christmas season but it is much too hot to have the traditional Christmas foods... I love the winters here as well.. blue sky's and sun ... not too hot and not too cold. It can get very cold of the evenings and early mornings...
Ok so I am different. I LOVE summertime! I love the heat! I love lounging in the pool and I love the long days. And that is a good thing because I live in the middle of the Mojave desert.

Well it is Spring over here at the moment and that is really nice - the weather is warming
up and the flowers about are gorgeous - daffidols and wisteria growing about the house,
camellias for a vase and freesias for their fragrant flowers.
Baby lambs and calves about in the paddocks.
I like all four seasons because there is always something great about swimming at the sea in
Summer and skiing in the snow in winter and playing about in the leaves in Autumn.
Enjoy whatever season you are having right now!
Hugs

Christmas is wonder-full---and I am a believer. I believe in magic and wonder and presents and cookies and
well of course, Chocolate.....
and I love when the gardens are in full bore....gotta love the gardens, especially since next year we will have more than 4 raspberrys....and oodles of strawberries, and I have been promised 3 thornless blackberry plants......I can hardly wait to get them in the ground...I love growing food and flowers....
And I confess to having a passion for snow, now that I dont have to drive in it but can sit by the window with a fire, hot cuppa and a book and watch the snow come down,
Only scratch the book- that's not even realistic!!! OK with a golly on my lap getting stuffed.
Thats more accurate.
gollyhugs and enjoy the beauty of our world,
dilu
I love all the seasons too, they all seem to be my fav as we move from one to the next, when it`s spring I love seeing everything grow, snow drops and tulips and all the lambs in the fields,
Summer , I love the light evenings and eating outside.water fights and bbq`s.
Autumn,I love the colours of the trees, the thunder and lightning and hearing the sound of the rain beating at the window when your tucked up all warm in bed.
Winter just means one thing to me CHRISTMAS!!!!! My cottage always looks like santa`s grotto, I have the biggest tree i can fit in the house and lots of handmade decorations everywhere.I love the smell of the pine needles and always have cinnamon burning in my oil lamp.I try and make christmas magical , like Dilu i still believe and with a 3 year old daughter it is just so special.ahhhhhhhhhhh I can`t wait!!!!!

Reading through everyone's post brought about such a wonderful longing for each of the seasons and the treasures they hold.
I'm a jeans and sweatshirt/sweater gal myself so I LOVE autumn in New England. This year in particular, I've found the cool crisp air to be the energizer I've needed to get productive again, in all areas of my life. And the foods which harvest brings, and the pies and the hot cocoa! Mmmmm!!! Love fall decorations too! I could live w/o Halloween though.
Winter... I tend to be cold all the time and the thought have having to take the dogs out 3-4 times a day regardless of the temps gives me the chills! But put me on the couch with a flannel quilt, tea, the dogs and a good book and I'm in heaven! And I LOVE the snow, cold as it is, it's beautiful to watch fall and when it sticks to the trees and makes the world look like a winter wonderland it's just breath taking.
Spring.... yes, the bulbs are in bloom and the trees budding and birds singing and the smell of spring rain is wonderful but it also means mud season (mud + dogs = constant cleaning of floors and said dogs!) and soon BUGS! Ick!
Summer.... the only thing I like about Summer is thunderstorms. Don't like the heat or the bugs.
So, AUTUMN it is!!!
I lived in Florida for 29 years you did not get all the seasons. Living in Florida went like this:
Winter: Hot
Spring: very hot and beginning to get muggy
Summer: Scroching Hot and miserably muggy
Fall: Scorching Hot and you are getting use to muggy before is cools down to just plain old hot again. And it starts all over again....
So I now live in Minnesota and I love, love, love all the seasons...I even like the winter snow....Spring, I can grow flowers (ones that the heat in Florida would wilt in 10 minutes). Fall I get the beautiful colors. Summer, can be hot but not muggy AND.... I don't have to live through hurricanes anymore!

It's spring here now and I love spring...and our winters when the sun is shining and its still not too hot. Here is one of my favourite Spring spectaculars in my garden...our wisteria!! And one of our resident doves, we have a whole family that stays in our garden year round. they've just had babies
Sarah what lovely photos...and a glorious wisteria!!!
I love spring too...beautiful days..not too hot or cold.......but most of all I love Christmas, but I guess that's not strictly a season and it's always a little too hot for me here in Brisbane at Christmas time!!
Spring for me too..I love the new growth, the rebirth of everything and the all newness and the buds and the bright spring flowers. I find it exhilerating. I like the winter too because of the cold nights and logs fires....and tea and toast , and the cats, all snuggled up by the hearth.
But spring wins hands down for me.
I am not sure what time of the year I really enjoy as each presents it own beauty.Wintertime in SA, is never that severe, and on that odd cold day, out from the, cold indoors in a warm place can be great. Snowtime in Europe to me is peacefull, as I have walked and ski-ed in forests where the silence is precious.
Then give me the sun, sailing and being on a boat is another kind of beauty, then seeing the bulbs peeping out , when spring arrives, oh nature is just so precious, how does the song go, There is a season, turn turn and a time for every person under the sun ?

Fall I love the leaves changing
I also got married in the Fall as well
Second would be Spring I dont care for Summer or Winter - Summer is too hot and Winter is too cold (and I HATE snow!)
I like sort of the end of October onwards, dark nights and the run up to Christmas. In fact I hate to say this but I think I enjoy the run up to Christmas more than Christmas itself. I don't like new year, I find it depressing somehow, I have'nt a clue why. I enjoy decorating the house and cutting holly, last year it was in the snow so it was very special. Saying all this I'm off to Turkey next week so am having a little bit of extra sun!

I like all the seasons because there is something special in each season, but I can honestly say since I moved to Texas I do not like the summers it just gets to hoooooooooottttt!
Definitely summer!!!! It is so wonderful here where I live in the summertime with the river running through our property and we can swim and play in it when it is hot. We always get lots of visitors in the summertime too.
Although autumn is beautiful, I can't get round the fact that that means winter is on it's way (and some years we even get snow in September so just never know if you are going to have autumn or winter in the fall months!) and I really do not like winter because of having to drive on icy roads and perhaps get caught in blizzards (which has happened a few times and I think traumatized me!) Spring here is usually more like winter than winter is - often we get our worst snow storms in March to May when it should be turning to nice weather and the last few years all it does is rain in June - so SUMMER is it for me!
