I would like to introduce the newest member of our family...he came with a different name..but is already responding to what seems a better name to us...we call him Herk...short for Herkimer as in the diamonds...seems much more fitting than Crunch...herk2.JPGhe is about 10 weeks old..suppose to be part Border Collie...and whatever..lol but he is such a sweet boy...a friend was concerned because she thought he was being abused...so we came to the rescue...he is soooo smart...already askes to go outside when he needs to go...and is great on a leash...and a real lover...but sometimes timid & shy...he is settling in well...and is asleep in hubby's chair right now!!!

Herk is precious.  I can see the border collie in him.  He should be a wonderful companion.  From my experience with Borders, I have found that they are very loyal.  My best friend when I was growing up was a border collie.

Thanks so much all of you for your comments about "Herk" he is very smart & yes...soft as silk. My best friend growing up was a border collie too bear_grin We have a wonderful dog Zeus who is 8 1/2 years old & figured it was a good time to get her a puppy to train..lol ...this getting to know each other thing will be  interesting!herk1.JPGSee what I mean...

Herk slept almost all night..about 3 he asked to go out...then went right back to sleep & didn't stir again until we got up this morning. We are very happy with this new little kritter.

Some times it is hard for the older dog to get used to the newer one, but after a while they will be best friends bear_grin

I don't have pics yet but we acquired a new dog as well on Tuesday. He is a 1-1/2 year old Boston and we already have two 8 year old Bostons. For some unknown reason, the woman who had him named him Cleo. That had to change and his name is now Fred. Butch and George are not too fond of Fred yet but we hope this will change with time. Fred is spending his time on my father's side of the house with my sister. I hope he can be acclimatised and that the three of them will be friends. The older woman who had him before just couldn't manage him and fortunately decided to give him up. The Bostons can be a handful but are wonderful dogs if you like homely, farting, burping, stubborn and extremely playful types.
