I see at least 8 of us signed on right now... all very active posters, yet it's very quiet!!! So, come chat!!!!

what are you up to this weekend????

I'm sewing and did some cutting back in my garden as we've had a couple of heavy frosts now and it'll be snowing on my perennials before long.

But mosly, I'm sewing in prep for a show at the end of the month and another big on in December. Oh, and I'm planning a 40th Anniversary party for my parents so I've had a lot of ideas swimming around in my pea brain!

How about you????

Uuuuuuuuummmmmmmm..........my weekend is almost over.
I haven't done much as I am not 100% but, I have these cute little bear heads pleading for their bodies  bear_original
so I will try to finnish at least one today.
I have to starve myself tonight for blood tests and then again on Monday for an Ultrasound.
Soooo, think I will just take it easy.
I do have some WONDERFULL news though........
I posted that my daughter had a misscarage,,,,,,,but, it's looking like the baby is still hanging in there.
She is only six weeks pregnant.  So it's too hard to tell for sure.
here's hoping

I'm hanging out with my sisters today.  We went to the Mall.  I haven't been "shopping" in a million years!! Got a few nice things (sales were good!)...the best was not even clothing related...a Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream candle.  It really smells like a bowl of ice cream!! bear_wub  I'm a candle junkie...I love the food smells.
Tomorrow will be bear day. Sundays are now fulltime studio days...now that it's football season and hub watches all day bear_rolleyes

Daphne, I always forget to sign out so it must seem like I'm always on!! I have been on a few times today. I finally got rid of a migrain and I feel so much bettter, I really need to get back to work on this big Halloween bear I've been working on for weeks. I usually have several going at once, but not the same design. That way when my attention strays I can still be working, I just pick up something else. But first I've got to get off the computer!!  bear_laugh

  I hate migrains! I've had a couple this past week that really knocked me down. Hate that! Glad you are better, Tami.

I remember reading a post from Quy that TT automatically takes your name off the signed on list after you have been idle for 5 minutes. I often stay signed on, well, I never log out, but I often leave the TT window open and walk away for a while. I'm glad to know I become invisible so no one thinks I'm THAT much of a computer junkie!! HA!  bear_laugh

Working on something fairly new for me.........a mini!!  So far, going well.  I don't get the eyes until Monday that I need, so he will be blind until then. bear_grin And also working on a commission order that I really need to get finished.  And working on putting my house back together (seems like I've been doing that forever bear_rolleyes ) since we finally got the last of our carpet in yesterday.......well, all except the steps up from the family room to the kitchen.  The guys' staple gun broke, so they have to come back monday just to finish that. bear_wacko

Well, I had plans to spend the day working on bears but just couldn't seem to get going on it so dragged out some fabric and did some dyeing instead - that is always so much fun - more like just playing around! Got some interesting colors but not really what I was expecting so have to try some more in the next day or two. I got a couple more bears traced out and almost finished the one I have been working on so I guess all in all in hasn't been a bad day. I'm working on my first bear with a needle felted muzzle and although it didn't turn out quite like I envisioned I think he's going to be pretty cute.

I remember reading a post from Quy that TT automatically takes your name off the signed on list after you have been idle for 5 minutes.

How do you tell if other people are on TT? I've hunted around and I sure can't find this signed on list or see any indication that I'm not the only one here! bear_ermm

Edie, on the index page scroll all the way to the bottom. You'll see the word ONLINE in bold on the left with the user names of those online listed next to it.  bear_original

I'm giving pills to a sick cat (gee, that's fun... not...) and hosting a 13 year old boy's overnight birthday party.  We're watching THE MATRIX because, and I quote, "It's the best gunfight movie of all time."  Dummy me; I thought Keanu Reeves was the draw there...

:)

I'm also keeping feeling-left-out-younger-brother from feeling left out, trying to grab some torch time to work on my beads (they are STILL glass turds, but prettier and prettier ones), working on too many design projects (it seems to come in waves), and trying to FINALLY finish the enormous synthetic plush bear that's been on my table for a month or more.  Oh, and replacing the eyes on one of my earliest teddies using my new techniques, per customer request.

And cleaning a guinea pig cage.

That's my weekend!

Thanks so much, Daphne - do I feel dumb!! Guess I never ever scrolled right to the bottom of that page before - I always wondered how everyone seemed to know when everyone else's birthday was too - and all that other info there that I've been missing!!! bear_wacko   Maybe by another year or so I'll have this site all figured out! bear_grin

Edie, don't beat yourself up, my friend!  I know this forum VERY well because I've watched the features develop and unfold quite literally from day one, since I helped found this site -- along with Sue Ann and the behind the scenes folks like Quy.

But... I've spent the last six months or so lurking on lampwork glass forums and even though I've spent MANY hours there, I still feel like a complete idiot there.  I can't use their search functions "right" and it's hard for me to figure out what information is located, where.  And once I get to know one part of the site, I have to be told -- after asking a "stupid" question -- that there's another part of the site where my "stupid" question has been answered, like, twenty thousand times already... and why don't I TRY to figure this out for myself (like I haven't done that a million times.)  Man, but that's a tough community.  Laughing here...

Anyway, my larger point is that it's no big deal that EVERY LAST FEATURE here hasn't "sunk in" with you just yet.  I'm glad you feel comfortable to ask!  And thanks, Daphne, for your answer.

The weekend is almost over here. It is Spring so I have been gardening. I then made  a Cherry Ripe slice for the week ( I will really try not to eat much of it but it is yum). I am now finishing off another new  koala...I've added  some felted eyelids to this one. Oh I've also done some laundry and now I am trying to think what to prepare for dinner. I have lots of Buk Choy in the garden ready to pick and yesterday bought some great fresh asparagus so at least the greens are covered !

It is 9pm Sunday Evening so our weekend is nearly over!
We have had a great weekend getting my 15 year old son ready for school camp - they are going to be staying at Ohakune
which is down near Mount Ruapehau. They are going to be doing a 7 hour tramp across the Tongariro Crossing and a lot of fun things. I have been sewing on a lot of name labels on his clothing, thermal and wet weather gear.

We also went to a naming ceremony for friends of ours that have had a little daughter Lucy Charlotte, so that was nice.
So all in all a great weekend and  it is nearly time to retire and get some sleep.

Goodnight and have a great week ahead.

Hugs
Carolyn

Getting massively fed up moderating another board, and trying to work on two commissioned mink bears.  I don't think I'll take on commissions again...at least not for awhile.  I love working on my teddies when its my idea....otherwise it feels like drudgery  bear_ermm   Can't believe I said that, but yes, it does put a clamp on my happy feeling when its something I have to do.

Not much else....but then I've always been boring  bear_original

It's Sunday morning (9.46 am) here right now and I am planning to make some trousers for a bear and finish of a traditional bear, which I decided I would make a couple of days ago. My son has to be driven to the theatre that he is performing at  in Nicholas Nickleby. We are all planning to see the show mid week or on the final day next Saturday. I also want to finish laminating the hang tags for my bears for the show at Ally Pally.
Have a great day everyone!

Hugs Jane.  bear_flower  bear_flower

Also watching my son play baseball, summer season is just starting.

Also preparing for a bear show that I will be trading at in 2 weeks time.   Busy Busy on my side, sorry I haven't been around much
