make lemon meringue pies, as I am not all that fond of Lemonade.

My camera died.  At first we thought it was a Sony problem, but with further investigation we have learned it is our problem.

Did you know that the cost to fix a $1000 camera is about $600?

For $600 one could get a new camera.

If one had a discretionary $600.

So no more pictures for a while.

Dear Sweet Renae and Wonderful Kassie have volunteered to take pictures....But then they let the cat out of the bag saying they wanted to to play dolls...

Well it might work...doncha think, so thanks to Renaes creative idea I wont be totaly bereft,

That sounds like a lemon meringue pie to me!

I would mope about it, but it wont do any good and no one is here to pay any attention to me moping.  If you can't make a scene moping whats the point, might just as well get back to work!

Unfortunately we do not live anywhere near where we could rent a camera, or hire someone to take piccys, and if we could afford professional photos well, we could get another camera!

And to add more lemons to the mix; mom, clever thing, went to the hospital.  She decided that it would be faster to call the ambulance than to call for help in the facility where she lives and pays $4000 a month for on site medical help.  Does anyone but me see the irony of this?

She has a blood clot in her lung- but seemingly will be OK.

More pie, I'd say.

Isn't it funny how bad things can be turned into something fun, or positive if we reframe our thinking, well, and don't mope!

Since Renae volunteered I think I shall try and finish my new Ballerina.....Thank you Renae and Kassie  bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub

gollyhugs

I always love your spirit of taking the bad and somehow finding the good.  I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've read your words and felt ashamed of my own wallering in self pity.

You are truly a blessing to this world dear Dilu...

Big beary kitty hugs to you,
Shantell

When electronic begins to annoy us, nothings goes well.

I am sorry to hear about your camera and do hope you can afford a new one soon.

I am very sorry to hear about your mom and will cross my fingers for her health to get better as soon as possible.

Eat a lot of chocolate and you'll forget everything that is not pleasant!

In my side, Malko was not lucky today. That's the end of his Citroen Visa: the poor old car decided to loose oil which went on the exhaust manifold, which is very dangerous. Fortunately he could come back home but his poor old car drunk one litre of oil to make 100 km and lost all during the route!  bear_angry
Poor Malko will have to buy another car and he is not joyful at all, believe me.

Can we share your lemon pie?

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

So sorry to hear of your problems, Dilu. Have you considered just buying a cheap digital to tide you over until you can afford a better one? I have a Canon Power Shot A430 4 megapixel that takes great pictures and is really good for close up photos and it only cost me $139 in the States and they were about $230 here in Canada at the time and have now gone down to around $160 here so might be closer to the hundred mark in the States. I got mine at Target. I have two digital cameras - my first cost me over $500 on a great sale and is only a 2 megapixel but it started occasionally doing funny things and I was afraid it might die on me (performs perfectly again now that it has some competition - bear_grin ) so that's why I got the new one. I want to get an expensive digital at some point but they have been coming down in price so much and going up in features that I thought if I wait another year or two I would get a lot more camera for less money and this one I bought is great in the meantime for what I need it for.
Hope your mom is all better real soon.
P. S. I'm busy working on a ballerina bear right now too - of course your ballerina is likely a golly!  bear_grin

Awww Dilu that is a bummer!!  bear_sad   I am in the same boat as my digital stopped working a couple of months ago........( it was uneconomic to fix was what we were told  bear_shocked ) it was only 2 years old!!!!  bear_angry

Anyway I have a wonderful friend who has lent us hers in the meantime....it is also a fairly cheap canon powershot an I must say I've been very impressed with the quality of the pictures so far!!!  bear_original  So maybe that is an option for you.

Well that just stinks, doesn't it? I must agree with Shantell. I truly admire your positive spirit even when a good moping is in order. You're an absolute delight to have around here.

Chocolate?!!!  You betcha....hey honey pass the Snickers.....

did you all know that Snickers was named after a pony owned by the Hersey family.

Yeah i know, food network trivia.....

Sophie, darling, i would make you your own lemon pie if I could.....

Oh I know everything will work out....I guess i will be getting a Camera for Christmas....but that's fine....he still isn't done playing with it.

It has become this challenge-he will eventually begin taking it apart screw by screw testing everything as he goes.  It may be a pile of parts by Thanksgiving but he will have figured it out!

The hubs has been cruising through lots of sites that talke about cameras and he is finding out that catastrophic failures seem to be quite common among the digital set.

What ever happened to the old mechanical Hasselblot--you know the old Swedish work horse that went to all the wars, along with Leicas...sigh.....

All will work out.....so lets all have a piece of chocolate....i did have Nutella on a half a piece of French Toast....that counts right?

love to all

Aw Dilu, I'm so sorry!
Being camera-less is a huge bummer. bear_noexpression  Maybe, as others have suggested a cheap digital might be the answer.  My kodak wasn't very expensive and takes great pictures most of the time. When it doesn't I'm pretty sure it is due to the operator, not the camera. lol!

I'm glad your Mom is going to be okay!

I can't say it any better than Shantell did, but you are an amazing example of finding the bright side of life.

many hugs,

Aw, Dilu... and you, the WE NEED PICTURES queen!  I'm so sorry about the loss of your camera.  And even more sorry to hear about your mom's ailing health.  I'm happy she'll pull through okay.  And warmed, as always, by your positive, hopeful reframe of it all.

I married a genius....he got the short end of the stick.

He found some more bulletin boards and people talking about the exact same problem we are having....and it is a SONY problem!

Woohoo!!!!!  We are sending my baby back east today-they have to fix her and send her back...and its all on them....

(fingers crossed)

The moral is contingency plans keep us from going nuts and freaking out....Renae took care of that, and it helps knowing Rick wont do anything until he is sure he has studied the problem from every angle.  He's really glad he didn't undo any screws yet.....

I am in a creating frenzy-new designs and patterns and techniques....  If they take 6 weeks to fix it I should still have it back in time to share my golly surprise.....if not I'll ship them to Renae and she can surprise all of us!

golly hugs,

don't let the rough patches get you down....bad stuff happens, but growth comes to us by how we handle the bad times.....

and it takes less energy to smile than to frown....and the gollies are lazy....so I guess thats why they are always dancing around eating chocolate and smiling!

If you're sharing that lemon pie, I sure would like a slice.  Lemon pie is my favorite!!  I bet you make the most delicious pie too.   bear_original

I'm glad things are working out and that your Mom is on the mend.  Perhaps this design bender you're on is what you really needed.  The Spirit works in mysterious ways you know.
