His hat and collar or the most lucious Hembold mohair....I was toying with an idea of making me a hat too....red wool vest, velvet breeches, leather boots.....sigh....the only thing he's missing is a princly bank account....

I also had to research tutus.....and made here's as real to true life as possible, for me.....

they both required new thinking in the body department, but i have been quite pleased with her esepcailly-wish I had her legs,

and i think of Our Kim Basta whenever I look at her.....she's still en pointe....can stay like that forever, I'm guessing

Dilu Posts: 8,574

Now to get them ready for e-bay.....heart in throat.....they took three weeks to make.....can I make a penny on them or just recoup my expenses?

sigh......

Hey....maybe not even recoup my expenses!

double sigh-sheesh

So now that I have hit a creative slump i am back...trying to get back into my old routine

bet not a one of you knows what I mean!!!

Thanks ladies,

Jodi, I want to do better pictures...not having the digital camera is a real drag.   So i am hoping to get them on to start Sunday night....and yep they go as a couple...

He's got his hands all over her!!!  whats a Golly mom to do?  Get those two married off Tout Suite!!!!

Hey you're all invited and the wedding cake is chocolate for sure!  And The Food Network's Giada DeLaurentis has a Nutella icecream to go with the cake.

then hope they move to a new home.....

AAAAHHHHHHHH, Nutella icecream, you're making me hungry! bear_original

Dilu, you did a fantastic job on her legs and feet. I am a classical Ballet teacher and that's the first thing I look for.  She's right over on her pointes and her legs look just like they would if she were a human on pointe!  WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!  This is a fantastic pair! bear_thumb

Where's the flower girl????

Your prince and ballerina are just marvelous, Dilu! I'd been missing you here too and feared you might not be well. Quite the contrary from the looks! A lot of hard work and patience went into those two! WOW!!!!!

What sex legs she's got!!!

Nutella ice cream?????????????

I can't wait for Sunday to come!!! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what those two might go for on eBay! I'll be rooting for ya!

Glad you are back with us! Don't go away again with out checking in to say your are OK from time to time!

Dilu -
You could add a digital camera to your wish list...
Could I suggest photographing them on a plain white background or an off white background.
Posterboard (you can buy at Wal*Mart) will work fine.
Besides you can get some really nice digital cameras for not a lot of money.
We had a Fuji A44 (A43?) that had some nice accessories I think it was about $125~$150 bucks... great for eBay and internet pictures.

Now on to the gollies...
They are beautiful. I am not a huge golly fan, but these two take the cake. You have out done yourself.

Dilu....you little Golly stinker...you have outdone yourself.  These two are delightful.  Just in time for Christmas...are they dancing in the Nutcracker?  I LOVE THEM and I know absolutely zilch, notta, zip, nuthin about ballet.

Oh Dillykins these are the most wonderful gollies that I have ever seen.   bear_wub   You take top prize for imagination and design with these two. Make sure you start them off at a good price on ebay. You can't let them get away without being rewarded well for all your time and hard work.

FANTASTIC work Di

Ya know how gollies can be....they had run off with the flower girl and it took all night to find them...

She's 8" tall and stands on her own and is just a little knock-kneed tyke.

Thanks ladies, you both know what it takes.  I could never do it-the teachers had a fit.  The taller I grew the more my left leg canted out making me look like a milking stool.....They finally told me it would probebly be best if I gave it up all together as eventually I would land wrong and there the leg would go phat.....And by this time I was STILL a beginner

Daphne

I have the nutella Ice cream recipie if you want....

Jared:

Oh you are sweet, but I have a Sony digital in the shop.  You missed that post.  Apparently Sony made a bunch of defective CCD chips and sold them to other digital camera companies too-There was a class action law suit and they lost   which means they have to fix our cameras-like it or not.

However they didn't have to tell anyone...we only found out by accident....and my hubby diligetnly searching forums looking for answers on what was wrong.  (Turns out he spent more on the camera than he had originally told me and was not about to let it go down the tubes lightly) bear_grin

And Gollies don't photo well against white or cream but do great against a light blue.or mottled medium  I usually use a Bali Batik and i found the one I like after the piccys....I am redoing the whole lot today.

...I don't know what I was thinking with that quilt....It was handy and I was getting desperate to see how the interim situation with piccys was going to work.  The local photo shop will print up a proof sheet and develop your piccys (35mm) to a cd for $5.00....makes me feel a lot better while waiting for the digital to come home.  Today I will be more relaxed and we will have a more appropriate background.....

hope i don't have to iron the sheet  AArrghh!

Now Jared, hearing someone say "I'm not a huge golly fan but...."  Well hon, that is music to my ears....it means that for you I was able to cross over that line....Thank you!

Shantell,

Yep, the Nutcracker  he is 20" and she is 18", actually probably only 16 but en pointe she is 18"

So the light tent was out

Jane and Penny

Thank you so much for your words, as golly makers yourselves I appreciate your kindness

And for all the rest, thank you again.....Now for something completely different.....a bear ornament!  Lets have us some fun!

gollyhugs
