I've hardly had any time to browse TT or make bears lately, since we moved.  Today is quite a mild day so I decided to get the Xmas lights up outside, so we didn't have to do it when the weather was freezing.  I was getting a new Xmas wreath out of the packaging - it was held in place by three hard plastic ties.  After cutting two successfully with my small sharp scissors, I slipped and jammed the scissors into my left hand about an inch, and boy did I jump.  I had to yank the scissors out and I can't believe I was so careless.  It has bled a lot, but now I have a butterfly bandage on it.  Hope it works because we don't have a doctor yet and there is no hospital or walk in clinic in our small town.  Hubby is at work and I don't drive, so here I sit, willing it to mend.

I've just read Helena's post from yesterday - hope you are feeling better and your finger has stopped throbbing.  Are we gals accident prone, do you think? LOL!

                                           hugs,

                                           Brenda

Definately!

I sliced the back of my first knuckle on a dolls needle a few days ago while inserting some eyes then the very same evening I was cutting some bread rolls in half ready for dinner and I thought to myself 'I remember when Stu (my other half) had a spate of cutting himself whenever he was slicing bread' and that very moment the knife slipped and cut 2 of my fingers!!

Brenda, I DO hope you heal quickly - it sounds very painful. Like I suggested to Helena - put a drop of lavender on the wound - I did with the cut on my knuckle and it has almost healed...only 2 days after I did it!

Gemma,
I'd like more info on the lavender, please - what form of lavender?  Is is Lavender oil?  I have an apothacary set that I haven't used yet and it has some lavender essential oil in it - would that be okay?  I'll try anything right now.

                                             hugs,

                                             Brenda

Awww Poor Brenda;  bear_cry

i would say we are an accident prone lot, we are forever breaking toes, slaming fingers somewhere they shouldn't be, falling, getting sick.....

My theory is this:  Because we are always thinking about our projects past present future....We are planning, mulling, cogitating, meditating, brooding, contemplating, day dreaming, ruminating, considering, musing, reflecting...........

well you get the point.

Our mind is not on the mundane in our life, dishes, laundry.....oh we do them but our mind is detatched and happily living in our own special creative world.

Dilu,
I think you have hit the nail on the head - who wants to think about house work when there are so many fun things to play at! LOL!
Mind you, our wreath looks very nice!

Oh Brenda....nooo!!! I'm sorry to hear you've joined the ranks of the hopelessly clumsy (I'm a life-time member  bear_grin ). I really do hope that your wound is not as bad as it first seems and I'm sending you plenty of good wishes for a speedy recovery.

I only hope I haven't jinxed the board with my tale of sliding-door-foolishness. I read about Ellen knocking herself out with the fridge (freezer?) door today - wow, we really do it in style here, eh?!

As for my finger, it's feeling much better. Many thanks for asking. Let us know how your hand is? Hopefully the bleeding has stopped?

Brenda, you must make sure it is Lavender essential oil (which is what it sounds like you have) - you must never use the lavender burner mix...it has lots of stuff added in it. You can use it neat or dilute a few drops in a small jug of cold water and apply to the cut. It works so effectively because it is a natural anti-bacterial but also soothing and aids healing.

Helena, I'm glad your finger is feeling better - aren't we a sorry bunch LOL!  My hand seems to have stopped bleeding and I think it will be okay in a few days.  I'll have to look for Ellen's post - I missed it.  Can't imagine getting knocked out by a fridge door!

Gemma, thanks for the information.  My lavender is essential oil, so I will use it when I'm done my post.  I love using natural products.  I keep witch hazel, calendula cream and aloe vera on hand all the time, so I guess I will make sure lavender is added to my cupboard!

Oh, Brenda! I'm so sorry to hear of your accident. I hope it will heal quickly.

Our microwave is above our stove and I have hit the door of it numerous times with my head. Now, thankfully nothing serious but it still has that "ouch factor."
