This morning there was another new cat waiting for me in the barn when I did chores.  That brings us up to 6 that someone dumped here.......and the new one knows the rest, so came from the same place again!!  And of course, this one is another female, looking kinda preggers. bear_wacko I'm wondering if this will ever end? I love my kitties, but I don't know how many more we can handle and still care for them properly. bear_sad  Tomorrow I am taking all five potential momma cats to see the A.P.E. vet to verify if they are pregnant or not.  I am honestly wondering about  all of them at this point.  Maybe three of them will get to go to their new foster homes tomorrow too......I'm hoping!

Oh Tracy, sounds like someone will keep bringing cats. How on earth they have soo many prego females is beyond me. That sucks.

I say write a sign, post it up where the cats are left. maybe that'll stop it.

Oh this is just terrible Tracy (The cat lady)  I can't imagine anyone being that irresponsible!

bear_sad   I'd say they've 'got your number' Tracy  bear_sad   Hubby's Grandpa used to have the exact same problem.  Seems everyone knew to dump their unwanted animals at his farm.  I think its highly irresponsible, and I can only hope you can get these kitties into some foster homes.      I know how hard it is to take care of animals properly especially as we head into winter.

oooo, I'm sorry Tracy. It's always wonderful to feed a hungry homeless animal, so kudos to you for doing that!  Unfortunately, it seems that once it appears you will feed a stray, word spreads amonst cat dumpers about your 'loving home'. bear_sad  Or at least that's what I've come to know.  My aunt started out feeding one pregnant stray who she named 'momma kitty'.  She was lucky enough to gain the kittens trust enough to handle them and adopt them out, but one by one over time, she ended up with 28 cats.  bear_shocked It's now whittled down to (I think) 8, 15 years later.

Yikes, I can't believe that people are so irresponcible! You are definately doing the right thing, Tracy. It's too bad that people are starting to take advantage of you though. Have you thought about posting a sign where you think they are dropping them off? You could say something nice but firm about how you can't keep all the kitties they are dropping off...
Good luck!

Oh Tracy, honey, I am so sorry that you keep getting unwanted pets dropped at your door step.  Do you have an animal shelters SPCA somewhere around that you can call and ask advice from.  Our world seems to think more of kitties  bear_wub  than babies bear_wub  bear_wub  so you wouldnt want to do anything that could cause your trouble or come back to haunt you.

Good Luck!

Tracy---my goodness, what oh what is going on in your neck of the woods? I wonder if it is the same person giving you all their unwanted cats. I think as they catch them, they sneak over to your place to dump them. Now one would have to wonder how many more are there? What can I say, but I feel for you.....Do the best you can....

Hmmm...how about getting some spay/neuter help? I still have a friend or two at the ARL Iowa (I used to volunteer for the ARL when I was in the US), so maybe they could give me some advice on how to get them fixed without getting broke.

Keep fingers crossed for us today, pretty please!! bear_original  Today is the day the girlies go in to see if they are well and truly preggers........and I believe they might be spayed if they prove not to be.   I was told to withhold food after 8pm last night, so that must be the plan. bear_thumb  The kitty that showed up yesterday was hiding last night though......I couldn't find her.  So I guess she doesn't get to go this morning, darn it! bear_sad We will have to get her in later........by then I'll probably have company for her trip to the doc. bear_wacko

I like that idea for the sign. bear_thumb   It sure is worth a try!  Darren put up a new set of flood lights on the back of our garage that shines right on the front of the barn where I think the cats are being dumped.  I left it on ALL night.......and will continue to do so.

Dilu and Magda--Another animal group is trying to help me......Animal Protection and Education, or A.P.E.
They are the ones who helped me find foster families for the pregnant ones, three of them anyway.  They also do low cost spay and neuter clinics for cats like this.  Barn colony and feral cats.  It is $35 a cat to be spayed (plus shots, wormed, microhipped).  That can add up fast though...and right before Christmas too. bear_sad  Hopefully, we won't find any more new ones in the barn.......I'm not very hopeful about that at this point. bear_wacko

Oh Tracey you must be going crazy.  I hope you didn't find any more cats this morning.  You are a real angel to be doing so much for these strays.  I hope the vet visit is successful in getting some of them spayed.  Hang in there !

Thanks Tammy!  No new ones this morning, thank goodness!!  I'm to the point that I dread going out to the barn in the morning, not knowing if I'll find more or not! bear_wacko   I won't know until later today what the verdict is on the potential momma kitties.....have to pick them up at 5pm.  And wouldn't you know it, the one I couldn't find last night was sitting there in front of the garage when I got home earlier from taking the rest in.  Too late to take her today now......sneaky thing! bear_wub

Sorry you keep getting more kitties.  It's nice that you're taking care of them.  I hope you get good news from the vet.
