Went out last night with my best friend Sue, and we ended up driving around looking at the Christmas lights people have put up. They are so beautiful. Is any one else doing this ? I am going to take some pictures soon. Don't know if they will turn out ... but there are some really amazing homes out there that are decorated to the max. Want to join in my fun ? Are you kidding? We haven't been able to get out the driveway yet! Everything's still snowed in. Well, I suppose our road is graded, but our driveway's extremely long, and no way are we digging out.
I'll bet the Christmas displays are positively lovely though In the meantime I'll have to make do with my little strand of lights
 That would be great Jodi!!! I just love seeing the light displays
Jodi: usually don't leave work until about 10:00pm-midnight. While driving home, I get the best drive ever. For I seem to live in an area where not only do people up up their lights early, but everybody puts up lights! So I get a lovely drive home in the middle of the nigh. Just beautiful.

We Brits are a little slow getting started. The majority of us don't put lights up very early. So far I have only seen one house with outside lights and all they have done is put lights in one tree. Next weekend we will most likely get our own decorations done. The town is full of pretty decorations, but it saddens me to see that the real reason for Christmas is not on display anywhere. We have snowmen, santas etc. but there is not one part of the town's decorations that relate to religion at all...so very sad as children now all grow up with the thought that Christmas just means Santa and gifts.
Hugs Jane.
I know what you are saying. I never decorated with Santas , and when my sons grew up I bought some snow men. I was always afraid that if the kids believed in a Santa
and they could see him and then found out he was not real then when it came to Jesus , who they could not see.... well I thought that would throw them for a loop. But there is a good childrens book called Santa are you real and it explains how there was a Saint Nickelous and he did give gifts. So that helps them a little. I just said Santa is some one people just have fun with when they asked and told them about St. Nickelous. But you are right few people decorate with the nativity. It is sad.
Well there's loads of nativities where I am...and I'm the exact opposite.... Personally Santa IS my focus on the season, but that's my own choice. I'm 36 and I STILL believe there is a Santa. Absolutely no reason to believe otherwise given some of the stories of giving that I'm told.
