Oh Jodi,  I know you must be tired to the bones with all that retail work.  Christmas was pretty quiet for us so I'm not too drained.  I did all my Christmas shopping in two trips to the stores.  We're helping daughter Paige move from SF bay area to Sacramento this week.  Then I might be tired.  Then off to Nashville to visit daughter Tracy for two weeks.  I plan on packing as much bear & NFing stuff as I can so I'll have something to do while they're at work during the day.  We'll see what I can come up with.

I'm exhausted and can't shake the remains of the flu I caught last week.  It's turned into something that makes me feel like I'm drowning and is all chest-y and yukky and phlegmy.  Bleech.  It's been a wonderful, wram, and unbelievably hectic, last few weeks.  Like you, Jodi, I'm looking forward to the relatively quieter New Year and some new design possibilities in 2007.  Go team is right!

No time to be tired. Having finished the Face Book -- 550 artists! -- I must turn my attention to opening and processing TOBY entries. Plus, I've got an artist panel to host and 275 Girl Scouts to educate at IDEX in a mere three weeks. And I suppose I ought to prep some editorial for the May issue... On the personal front, Jack needs to write thank-you notes, my house is a disaster, and my god daughter's 10th birthday, which requires a special, thoughtful, cool gift, is January 2. No time to be tired! Bring on the coffee and chocolate!

bear_ermm Mindy!
You better be ready for that Artist panel! I'm on it and I don't want to be left ALONE bear_wacko
I'm struggling to be ready for the IDEX, starting January 16th, and Disney/Epcot needs photos of pieces for their May show before I go to IDEX! I'm still catching up on Holiday orders! OHHH am I tired, this is by far my busiest time of year!

I just couldn't resist get stuck into a new bear! I've drawn up a completely new pattern with a centre seam (a first for me) to give the bear a more rounded forehead.

I did put a suggestion for a new year challenge in the 'challenge' section for a floppy bear. My new design may just end up being a bear for this challenge!!

Me too....tired just doesn't begin to describe it...although reading the lists of things you have all done I'm beginning to think that I should be full of beans!!! My tired only comes from having all 6 kids at home and getting up extra early (and going to bed extra late) at Christmas!!!

As for bears I am rearing to go...Like Gemma I am drawing up a new design and it is for the floppy bear challenge she put out before christmas. I also bought a piece of mohair on ebay yesterday that I think will be perfect for it, so I can't wait for it to arrive so I can get stuck in!!!

I am not having holiday - I work 6 days a week, so I am just very tired now.
I work at the danish railways, I am selling tickets to Denmark and Europe.
We are open 365 days a year.
But I do have plans for the new year. I am designing a new head with no seem
in the jaw, and I am planning to make a bear with fingers, that will fit the big feets,
that I am doing.

Shelli make sure it hasn't turned into pheumonia you sound like I did when I got it recently.

I started a bear but I have to put it away I cut the fabric wrong and will put an order in to Sassys before I will continue it.  I am tired but that's pretty normal for me 4 kids and not ebough sleep will do that to anyone.

Oh goodness...I am tired too....Now the new year starts everything all over again. Where I work the first quarter is the bussiest time of the year....So it is back to 10-12 hr days for me. But, I love what I do....

New projects- well Jodi and teddy bear friends, I think I am going to teach myself to draw and sketch.

Happy New Year to all of you and I can't wait to see all of your 2007 creations.

I'm so tired from not only the holidays but this whole YEAR!

So tired in fact that I'm doing some really stupid things. Take today for instance... I gave myself a concussion and ended up at the hospital!  p025.gif

I can't face my new year's plans until I've had a few days of serious rest!! f055.gif
Except I can't go to sleep because of this concussion.... so I'm working on my plans for the show's I'm promoting in 2007 as well as an editorial for Mimzy and I'm designing a NF'd version of Mimzy! Don't worry... I'll review what I've done once the head ache is gone and I'm thinking clearly... make sure I haven't come up with anything stupid!

Next year should be interesting!

Shelli.... go see a doctor! If I can go and tell the ER doctor that I knocked myself out with the back door of my SUV then you can go see him/her for something much more serious!

Thanks for your concern, gals. I'm giving it one more day before I haul my arse to the doctor.  I tend to avoid meds but I'm taking an expectorant the last 24 hours because I just couldn't NOT take one anymore.  Finally I'm seeing some improvement just this afternoon.  I appreciate your concern!

Daphne, your concussion sounds just awful.  And like all concussions, serious.  Please take good care of yourself, and stay away from the backend of your SUV!  I hope hubby is around to wake you every few hours tonight.

Shel, you are like me... I hate taking meds of any kind... especially cold medicines! I have yet to find one that doesn't give me "medicine head"! I'm glad you are getting some relief from that expectorant. Keep taking it!!!!!

Staying away from the back end of my SUV sounds great! Except that's where the dogs travel and I can't get them to shut them door themselves! They go every where with us!

Yup, Henry is home and will wake me every couple of hours until I get so annoyed that I give him a concussion!

Shelli and Daphne, you both sound like you could use some serious down time -  I hope you can get it!

If I had one wish, I would wish for more laid back Christmases - Charlotte, would love to do a "hand-made" Christmas, but I'm sure it would be a nightmare for hubby and the kids LOL!  I have three "over-the-toppers" who won't settle for less than everything and more for Christmas, which is all good except one lives overseas and just comes rolling in for Xmas every year, and the other two work retail and are never available to help with preparations.  I get picked to do it all - lucky me!  By the time Christmas actually gets here, I am so tired that I just want it over. This year we got three sets of company as well over Christmas, and I don't care if I ever see another one.  I feel like Scrooge and can't wait for the January-February lull.  I wish I could come up with some solutions because I am beginning to hate Christmas.  God, this sounds awful, but it's the way I feel right now.

Shel and Daphne ouch!  Altho I am glad to hear your chest is easing a little.  Daphne not going to sleep does not mean you are supposed to wear yourself out trying not to sleep.  bear_original

Brenda I was lucky this year the girls are still young and I moved more into a handmade Xmas and they loved it adding their own decorations to add to the tree.  I hade to make the decorations in bundles of 5, 1 for each of the girls to take when they are older and one for me to keep for my own tree.

They were delighted when their things were hung up.  Each year they will be able to hang their own special ornaments.

Bron,
My mom did that with me... had me make two special ornaments every year. I'm an only child so had to do an extra to help fill up the tree faster! Now I have them ALL and it's so special to hang them every year and remember when....

And we have hubby's handmade ornaments too!

I'm hoping next year to be organized enough to make and give handmade presents to everyone. Bears are too predictable so I'm going to try to come up with something different and special. I have a year to figure it out!

PS.. I slept last night, feel much better this morning as far as head is concerned. bear_original

Shelli you really should go to the doctor and have him look at you. Sounds like it has settled on your chest. And Daphne you also really should see the doctor as concussion can be very serious indeed. I did have concussion after my blue heeles knocked the feet from under me and I was ok that day but at work the next day I just was not there and my friend took me to the hospital and I had to stay for two nights. So please go and have a check.
I had a virus over Chirstmas so I have not done much at all. Spent most of it in bed with a book. Getting a bit better now. Mind you Christmas day was a bit of a disaster. I always go and have breakfast with my daughter and her family and as usual we went out the the horses and gave them some carrotts. One horse was at traning around the corner so he could not miss out. In her big 4*4 we went and she reversed straigt into my parked car. Huge dent in the bumper. Insurance will pay. Two  days later my daugher gets a call for the trainer and the horse has knocked his eye and need the vet. Well we hook up the horse float and Pernilla drives out of the shed, and slashed the tires on the drivers side on the float. So we managed to borrow a float and put Ivan up and he did not like this float and started to play up. I had to stay and talk to him when Pernilla closed the backdoors. Off the vet. His eye will be ok if no infections sets in. So medication 3 times a day. In all this my pc went as well. So yes I am glad when 2007 is here.14.gif

I hope everyone gets some time to relax over the weekend (and feel better, that means you Shelli and Daphne!).  I've just been sitting here thinking about how tough 2006 was in many ways, and realized that the goals I have set for myself in 2007 seem downright impossible.  NOW I'm tired, thinking of them!  On second thought, maybe I'd better enjoy the last few days of 2006...

Cheers,
Kelly
