How des one keep bears clean? I don't have a curio cabnet yet. How would you recomend cleaning bears abd dolls? I am aware that the washing machine is OUT of the question.
Jenn, a vacuum cleaner hose with a nylon stocking over the end of the hose works great. If there is dirt or something spilled on it, I have used a mild dish detergent to clean. Just add a bit of detergent to a sink, or bucket while filling it with warm water to make lots of suds. Just use the suds and a clean cloth to wipe the dirt away. Don't get the fabric too wet and take extra care not to get the joints wet. Then wipe with a dry towel and let dry. Then brush and fluff with a pet brush.

Hi Jenn
Sunnie has it right and I have also found that if they are small and really fragile a paint brush for brushing and a a hair dryer for blowing off the dust can work well.
Thank guys!
For the miniature bears that I have collected, I used canned air to clean them. Since it has a "straw" attached, it's great for getting into the tiniest places. Best of all, since it blows the air off, I don't have to worry about the little ribbons and bows being sucked off by the vacuum (even with a panty hose on the end of the nozzle.)
Hugs,
Luann
But if its a real fur bear ~ no water at all! Only use the vaccuum cleaner to hoover away any offending dust
So I have a question then.
Why do you need the pantyhose over the vacuum?
Unless of course there are little bits and bobs that could get sucked up.
Exactly for the little bits n bobs! Its amazing the things that suddenly fly up a vacuum cleaner nozzle
And trust me (speaking from experience) you don't want to go "in search"....
