Hey now...are you all bashing Starbucks?? This is a Starbucks junkie your talkin' to here *smiles*  For the holidays, EVERYBODY gets me Starbucks giftcards...Im THAT bad!
Remember, I live in Seattle. The Starbucks capital of the world. If I drive 5 minutes from my house, there is a main interesection and 3 of the 4 corners have a Starbucks on them...we LOVE our coffee!
I get alot of razzing from friends and family about my "habit", but you know what...it paid off for me in a BIG way! I had my second home on the market for 4 YEARS! 4 YEARS of paying double mortgages each month...guess who bought my other house.....yep, thats right, my STARBUCKS barista!!  Makes me love Starbucks that much more....*grin*

Hugs,

K

bear_wub  I love Starbucks.  All 27.6 bajillion of them, worldwide.  I have switched to decaf since my stupid heart flipout last summer, on doctor's orders (boy, was THAT not fun).  But I still can't function without my coffee.  I'm brainwashed; I admit it.  It's the placebo effect.  bear_wub

Starbucks coffee.....Kim, I am with you.  I think you could chaulk the basement with that stuff.  Wow...just too powerful for me.  Sorry Shel.

AARGH!   :P

Actually I should give the stuff another try.  I only tried it once in a hospital cafeteria...and I know they have tons of different flavors.  I love coffee and especially tea...I drink anywhere from 5 to 10 cups a day.  Must be the English in me. bear_flower

Okay Kallie and Shelli, please can you give some recommendations for Starbucks?  I am gonna give it another try ( caffiene junkie here). bear_thumb

My biggest pet peeve has got to be other drivers (mainly on roundabouts).

1.  People pulling out on you or cutting you up in the middle of a roundabout because they don't know what lane to be in.

2.  Not using your indicators - It is a little stick at the side of the steering wheel. So simple a small child could use one.

3.  Slow drivers - I'm usually in a rush.

4.  Call centres

5.  Work!! There's just too much of it.

Oh that explains it...you had it in a hospital cafeteria??  Judi, Judi, Judi...we all know that hospital food/drink is awful! Go to an actual Starbucks and order a white chocolate mocha, non-fat, no whip and NO foam! Yummmmm!!
That is my drink of choice. The frappacinos (sp?) are pretty good too...I like the caramel ones during the summer and hubby likes the strawberry ones, but then again, he hates coffee.

Or, order a soy latte.  The nutty lightness is delicious!  They used sweetened vanilla soy at Starbucks.  Alternatively, if you can spare the calories -- and I've seen your gams, Judi; you can -- order a breve' latte.  It's a cup full of cream with a dash of espresso.  Yummers!  I go for the TALL size, which has less espresso in it, when I order these drinks.  The proportions change as the cup size gets larger and I find the drinks stronger than I like as a GRANDE or VENTI size cup.

Venti, sugar free vanilla, non-fat, no foam latte!  Sugar free, non-fat and no foam means no calories, right?

I have lots of little pet peeves, not worth mentioning, but my two biggest are
Annoying relatives that drop in unannounced and expect royal treatment

      Telemarketers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found a way to fix both - when we moved, we got an unlisted telephone  number and we didn't give the number or our new address to the annoying relatives.  Haven't had a telemarketer call since we moved OR drop in relatives!  Life is wonderful!

School buses.... getting stuck behind a school bus at 3 in the afternoon is the WORST!!!

PS. Starbucks............. Ick! Mud is right! It's chalky! It's so strong.... you can add all the cream you want to it and it's still BLACK! I've had it in Boston, London and Chicago and it's all the same! At a hospital though it's got to be twice as bad! bear_tongue

Ok, I have a pet peeve that I experienced this morning. Today is my son's 5th birthday and after opening his presents he wanted to play with them so I had to take them out of their boxes....this is my pet peeve - packaging on toys!!! Not only is there too much packaging but what is the deal with attaching a toy car with 10 ties that takes you about 20 minutes to undo??! There's also cars that have a big plasic section screwed to the bottom. I know that it's to stop people removing the toys from the boxes in the shop but this is rediculous!!  bear_angry

Feel better now!  :P

By the way - I luuuuuuurve Starbucks!!!

OK here are some of mine:

Big trucks going very slowly and don't pull over to let people pass even though there are many good spots where they could have pulled over.  The law in California is that if there are 6 cars piled up behind you, you are to pull over to let them pass.  They don't.

When my husband always waits until  the last minute to get into the correct lane to exit, then gripes when people won't let him squeeze in.

Terrible garlic breath.  Yuck.  I hate it when someone is standing in line next to me in the store stinking like garlic.  I have very sensitive sense of smell.  I have to move to another line or throw up.

Negative people.

People who cut in line. (queue, some people call it.)

When the sign says "slower traffic stay to the right" for a passing lane and they don't so you can't pass or you have to pass them on the right.

Those voice activated phone systems that have a recording that always say "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you said."  You never get to where you want to be with those systems.

When you say "thank you" and someone (usually kids) answer "no problem" instead of "your welcome".

- People who expect me to be psychic. This ranges from my family, who plan things without telling me or want dinners they fail to mention; to teddy bear people, who want coverage but never send me press releases or pictures, or attend shows, or do anything to call themselves to my attention. Talk to me -- it's so much easier for both of us.

- People who abdicate responsibility for their own actions and messes. If you want credit for your successes, you have to own your mistakes, too. It's just fair. And, as everyone else has said, clean up after yourself -- whether it's clothes or dishes or the sink or muddy shoes -- your mess, your job.

- The kid next door who calls and/or rings the doorbell repeatedly when we don't answer. We've got caller ID (and windows). If we don't answer, assume we're not home, busy, or don't want to talk, and GO AWAY.

- CEOs of big companies who makes hundreds of millions of dollars while their stock prices are falling and they're laying off workers. This is a national crime, and I can't believe we as a country tolerate it. For that matter, why do movie stars and sports players make tens of millions? It's ridiculous.

Oh fun, I want to play!

- People who say things under their breath.  Always negative.  Always behind someone's back.  And because I have exceptionally good hearing, I can ALWAYS hear what they say!  It makes me crazy whether it's directed at me or somebody else.  Why do people never whisper GOOD things about other people?

- The packaging on new DVDs.  Plastic covering under which there is anywhere from one to three (!!!) additional seals on the case itself.  You can't get the sticky stuff off without digging dents in the case, and when you do get them off, it leave residue so that you now have a sticky new DVD case.  Grrrrrrr.  I bought it legitimately, don't treat me like a criminal!

- People that honk for no apparent reason or very, very stupid reasons.  I was followed by someone a few months ago who honked when (1) I stopped at a red light, (2) I slowed down because there was a car making a turn ten cars ahead of us and everybody had slowed down so they didn't plow him over, and (3) no reason at all.

Feels good to good that off my chest  bear_original
