No, I'm not writing to tell you about the stuffing I used in Mimzy!!!
But I am writing to tell you that first: one of our own TTers, Robyn (where ya been, hon?), brought to my attention a slide show of images from the movie that's now online! Check it out! There is a great picture of Emma (the little girl in the movie) and Mimzy... Emma is looking at Mimzy who's back is to the camera. A cool shot!

And second: I've just read that Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) has written the theme song to the movie. (I'm a huge Floyd fan!)
"Legendary musician Roger Waters has recorded the original song "Hello (I Love You)" to be featured in New Line Cinema's upcoming sci-fi film The Last Mimzy (to be released nationwide on March 23rd). Waters collaborated with Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore ("The Lord of the Rings" trilogy) and Grammy Award-winning Pink Floyd producer James Guthrie (The Wall) on the song, which marks only the second time Waters has ever recorded an original song specifically for a motion picture."
In reading previews and learning more and more about the movie I'm really excited to see it and that has nothing to do with my involvement! Seriously! I was quite sceptical about the story at first but I'm coming around. I have the feeling it's going to be a big hit!
A more indepth description of the movie is now available.... it tells more than the trailer or other online synopsises (synopsi??) do! http://comingsoon.net/films.php?id=13457
And the Tonner Doll Company now has the Mimzy doll up on their website: http://www.tonnerdoll.com/mimzy.htm
US residents (maybe Canada too???) don't make plans for March 23, 2007!

Hi Daphne,
I just checked out the pics and the trailer and can't wait to see the film!!!!! I love sci-fi stuff! You should go back to your original post and print out all the discussions and the frustration you had getting them done. It would make an awesome scrapbook! I still want one!!!!!!
hugs,
Brenda

Anyway CONGRATULATIONS to you. you must be so proud, I know I would be!!!!
I am so proud of you Daphne; and especially because during all the Mimzy stuff you held it together for mom and dad too. The whole year had to be quite the trial in patience and lesson on giving.
Ooops-lets not forget the Main Supershow!
Congratulations hon!
dilu
Wow TOOOOOOOOOO cool ... congratulations, you did a great job !!! Did you say those bunnies were going to be for sale? By what company? Did I see that ?
Thank you everyone for your continued enthusiasm! I should think you'd all be sick of this by now!
Jodi: Bunnies will be made by Tonner Doll company and sold by retailers who carry them! HOWEVER... I am working on getting an order of them myself and will let you know if/when I have them as I'll be selling them as well... so you can get one straight from me so to speak! The bunnies, though on Tonner's website are still not available yet.
Chole: The props master, who is in Canada, knew of Dear-Bears Marketplace (www.dear-bears.com) as he's been to their shop. So, he got on their website to search for artists to make this bunny. I have a link on the Dear Bears site and that is how he found me.
WOW Daphne,
This is so exciting! I love Mimzy and I will definately go and see the movie and probably buy it when it comes out.
How wonderful to know the artist who created Mimzy!!
Jane
Daphne, put me down for a Mimsy direct from you!!!
I didn't want to sound all sour grapes or anything over the mass produced link, but they didn't even had the guts to say it was designed by you ~ even though they named the designer for the doll
But for me, the mass produced bun just doesn't have your special touch...its just not 'alive' to me.
No matter what, I am SO STOKED about this upcoming movie!!!!  I can't imagine any TTer not being excited!!!
Debbie,
Hate to break this to ya hon but that bear in the photo is one I made... it's the sample I sent!
And I hope everyone will keep in mind that I didn't desing Mimzy. The art department of the movie production company came up with the concept and visual appearance on paper. I simply put it into 3D, soft sculpture form. I can NOT take credit for anything more than "Bunny Builder" as they've dubbed me! There is no easy way to explain that in a breif description of an item for sale. They'd have to say who deisgned the bunny then who put it into 3D if we want them to include my name. Way too confusing.
I love you guys for wanting me to get public recognition!
Oh Daphne - now that is cool!!! The movie DOES look great, and Mimzy looks fantastic!!!!!
You must be SO excited!
Danni
Daphne,
I remember the stuff they put you thru when you were making the "Mimzy's" ... you really should get extra credit!!!!
Hugs &
Daphne I am so proud of you and I'll never get of healing Mimzy stuff !!!
Debbie,
Hate to break this to ya hon but that bear in the photo is one I made... it's the sample I sent!
Then they must've all ready sucked the life out of your poor little bun doing photo shoots or something, because he doesn't have sparklie eyes !!! Poor lil fella
