As you may have guessed, I am looking for a bear. I can guess that it was released sometime around 1984-1986, I know that I owned one in 1986. What makes this bear unique is that it has a Zipper pocket on it's right leg, a Snapping pocket on it's left leg, a Button flap on it's chest and laces on it's "shoes" that you could tie. I remember it having a brown head with a white nose/mouth area and blue shirt fabric. It might be the prequel to Gund Teach Me Boy Dress Up Bear without the hat or overalls. Finally, it looks very similar to Gund's style faces, though this bear could not sit on it's own. It was not very flexible if that means anything. Please let me know if you have ANY ideas. Email is sbelcher51500 at yahoo.com, AIM is Sbelcher5150. I'll do my best to make it worth your time if anyone knows this bear. Thanks!

Sorry I can't say that I know the bear, but when trying to find items myself (with little leads) I've done random searches on ebay or google even. Using random 1-2-3 word phrases in a row. teddy bear vintage zipper.....or teddy bear button flap....etc. I've also just flat out pulled up entire sections, sat down with a cup of tea, and spent an hour or so scrolling through the photos. I once saw an antique teddy collectible in a teddy bear magazine appraised for $300..went to ebay and plugged in a few phrases that may have been used to describe it and FOUND the item (I paid $12!!!!). It wasn't listed under any title that would have made sense to the collectible piece..I think they thought it was junk. I just plugged in various phrases in search.
Good Luck!!

Just wanted to thank you all for the luck-wishing. The second pic that Twincubs posted is painfully similar, though not the same. I've tried the Bear+Button+Snap+Zip searches and scrolled though roughly 100 pages of google images... still nothing. I can only assume that this bear wasn't made by a big company, otherwise I think I might have found it by now. Thanks though!
