Thank you Andrea and Brenda!
Emmett has agreed to a "joint custody" if need be...
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Kim, I'd settle for that!
Hugs,
Brenda
*laughing* Your so funny Brenda! I'm sure if you or Andrea are the lucky winner, we can draw up some official court documents to settle the custody battle and put all visitation terms in black and white...tee hee
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Kim, what a smashing idea for a smashing bear ...
Gaby
Is there still time to enter?
I've just sent my money too. Andrea and Brenda - it may be triple joint custody cause Brockville is really only about 3 hours away from Toronto. I work for lawyers - I can draw up the custody papers if need be!
Marion
Yes, there is still 7 days to enter!
Perfect Marion! We have our lawyer in place if need be *smiles*
Thank you all very much!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Marion, that's great. I get Emmett during the weekdays and you and Andrea can have him every other weekend!
hugs,
Brenda
PS: I'm probably ruining any chance I have - my Karma will get me, I'm sure LOL!
I'll have the lawyers draw up the papers ladies, but what about special holidays like Christmas and birthdays?????
Cheers!,
AndreaM
hmm.. the party of the first part, Brenda, and the party of the second part, Andrea, and the party of the third part, Marion, hereby agree as follows:
1. Each of the parties is a fit and proper person to have the responsibility for the care and custody of Emmet. The parties therefore agree to the joint legal custody of Emmet.
2. The residence of Emmet shall be with Marion and she shall have the primary day to day responsibility for the guidance and upbringing of Emmet.
3. It is the intention of the parties in agreeing to joint legal custody that each of them shall continue to have a full and active role in providing a sound moral, social, economic and educational environment for Emmet and continue that support which he has received to date. The parties shall consult with one another in substantial questions relating to religious upbringing, educational programs, significant changes in social environment, and non-emergency health care of Emmet. In accepting the broad grant of privileges conferred by this joint custodial arrangement upon each of the parties, they specifically recognize that these powers shall not be exercised for the purpose of frustrating, denying, or controlling in any manner the social development of the other party. The parties shall exert their best efforts to work cooperatively in future plans consistent with the best interests of Emmet and in amicably resolving such disputes as may arise.
Hows that for a start.....and I haven't even raised the issue of bear support yet!
Marion
You girls are a hoot!! All three of you are just wasting your time with legalities. Emmet is coming to live with me......and I'm not sharing with anyone!
Warmest stingy hugs,
Aleta
ALETA! Is that YOU giving US **RASPBERRIES*!!!! AND THREE OF THEM Well I never! This could get UGLY!
Big hugs,
Brenda
*BIG (from the bottom of my belly) LAUGH* You ladies are too darn funny! I love the contract...it even includes who is responsible for health care!!!
I think Aleta said it best...you ladies are a HOOT!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
I am so concerned about you guys Marion, Andrea and Brenda - I know you're starting out all friendly about this but I wonder where this will lead...Poor Emmett, forced to shuttle back and forth...
I'm stepping up guys...Emmett can come out west and live with me !(but I'll send you pictures...ummmm...yeah...)

Cheryl

(ah hum...magic 8 ball in my studio.. )
(honest to God three shakes in a row just now  )
And I might consider sharing...if chocolates are involved
~Chrissi
Thanks Cheryl, I'm sure you mean well, but you haven't got a hope. Emmett doesn't want to live in sub-zero weather! It says right in Marion's contract - no significant changes to social environment with discussing it, and I know Emmett would never agree to frosty Edmonton! Newcastle has the lake effect and is much milder. He'll loooove it here!

hugs,
Brenda
PS: After all of this Emmett will probably go to sunny Florida or California
Oh Chrissi, you're using a "magic 8 ball" to decide Emmett's entire future and bribery as well (ie chocolate)? No judge would accept that - sorry, but the court's decision has just gone against you!
hugs,
Brenda
ahhh. but if Emmett comes to live with me I'll take him to Thailand for a vacation and he'll enjoy living on a farm with pigs, cows, chickens, etc. Every boy loves living on farms where they can chase cows plus he'll have his own dogs and 2 kittens and I'll even get him a pony.
and I beg to differ but Brockville's climate is much milder than Newcastle. I've heard all about that lake effect snow but you're certainly right on about Edmonton's weather!
Marion
my goodness...if this squabbling goes on much longer I can just see the Children's Aid Society getting involved! then we'll have the Office of the Children's Guardian calling up and a court-appointed lawyer for Emmett, etc etc.
(it's a good thing I know the local CAS in-house solicitor - that should give me an inside track).
Marion
Oh Marion, no no no! Brockville is close to Ottawa and it's in the snowbelt and besides, Brockville is on the St. Lawrence River and it's bloody cold by the river -even in the summer time at Brown's Bay, it was always windy there!
Don't forget I lived in Kemptville for 12 years, until last summer, and that' s only half an hour from you. It is MUCH milder here than it was in Kemptville. We only have a smidgen of snow and I don't even wear my winter coat in the car. So, is it "I win" or "you lose"!
hugs,
Brenda
You were from Kemptville...that says it all!
I'm saying Brockville but I actually live in Mallorytown and I'll have you know we've been having such warm weather that I don't even have a winter coat! Mallorytown is certainly not in any snowbelt - we don't even have snow banks.
You're most likely right in your previous posting - poor Emmett will probably be doomed to live in Florida or some such place.
Marion
I think you ladies are forgetting that Emitt might just want to live in the 'snow belt' Have you even bothered to ask his mother if he's a skier???? I'm surrounded by three of the most popular ski hills in Southern Ontario, not to mention all of the arts and culture he'd recieve here with our, annual blues and jazz festivals, the Mariposa Folk Festival, and all of the art galleries, perhaps he'd like to go to a ballet??? I have a subscription to the National Ballet of Canada, and Teddies get in free with adult admission! So really I think he'd like it here a lot!
In all honesty ladies I haven't laughed this hard in ages!!!
Big hugs for everyone even if you do win Emmitt
P.S. Marion: if he does go to Thiland with you , you know we'll be expecting postcards, photos and souvineers!
We won't have to help pay his airfare will we??????
AndreaM
Oh Marion, "Mallorytown"! My goodness, that's no place for a cultured bear from the state of Washington. It's in the middle of the boonies! And Thailand may be a nice place to visit, but he won't understand the culture or language - he'll feel lost and alone.
I agree with Andrea, culture, culture, culture. My daughter and I go to the theatre regularly and we would love to have Emmett join us. There is so much to do in the Toronto area, he won't have a minute to be bored. And coupled with Andrea's scheduled outdoor activies to keep him healthy, as well as the ballet, I think he would fit right in here, don't you think so Andrea? We could do a week turnabout, and then he wouldn't feel pulled in all directions. We have to stay strong, Andrea - we can do this!
hugs,
Brenda
I'm with you Brenda! But I think 2 weeks with me and 1 with you, just so he doesn't get confused about who his REAL mom is!
Fine! one week each, I could handle that!
I wonder if they have this much trouble sorting out visits with the Stanley Cup????? Maybe we should ask the NHL for advice!
Hugs,
Andrea
Andrea, I wonder LOL! Emmett will probably end up in France or Germany and will end up having to speak a whole new language! Talk about culture shock!
Kim, can't you move that date up again? We'll be brawling by the 14th!!
hugs,
Brenda
