You're right Brenda,
After all of this he's goining to end up somewhere else and won't we feel silly!
If that is the case maybe he'll send us a postcard from wherever he ends up, just to let us know he's alright and happy in his new home?!

AHEM!  I don't know why you girls are bothering with this joint custody thing.  Honestly.  I've told you time and again the little guy is coming to live with ME.

Now really, what little bear wouldn't want to live in a castle surrounded by manicured grounds in which to run and play?  Not to mention the tropical paradise in the back garden with a pool.  Emmett will thoroughly enjoy floating around sipping iced tea and dipping his toes in the water.  Yes, Oregon is a tropical paradise.....for 6 months out of the year anyway!

So you see, it's silly that you girls are carrying on so.

And yes, Brenda, those are raspberries.  I bet you didn't think I had it in me......did ya?

Hugs and hugs and hugs,  (your consolation prize girls!)
Aleta

P.S.  Pen Pen said I live in a castle....so it must be so!  bear_happy

Oh Aleta,
You do have a lovely castle and I'm sure the pool is grand in the summer, but you are forgetting that you have "Max" the miscievious monster cat - you said so yourself.  Emmett will be scared to death of him - he'll never feel safe.  My 22 pound kitty is so gentle, he will even give him Emmett a hug, not swat him about or attack him at each and every opportunity!  I'm sure the court appointed advocate will understand at first glance that Emmett's safety will be at stake if he lives with you and Mad Max!  :  The raspberries are a nice touch though!

And now I have to go and make hubby some dinner - he can't figure out why it's taking so long to list an auction!
                                  hugs,

Oh shoot.   bear_ermm   I did just call him Maxzilla a couple of days ago, didn't I.  Well, that promptly came back to bite me in the behind, didn't it?

Wait!  Wait just a minute!  A 22 pound cat?!!  Goodness!  Brenda, darling, your cat will squash poor Emmett!!  Besides, I can put Walker in charge of Emmett.  Walker (at only 11 pounds, mind you) can put the smackdown on Maxzilla if he gets out of line.

Oh!  But wait!!  I see Chrissi is upping the anti with a three ring circus!!!   bear_shocked  bear_shocked  bear_shocked

ladies ladies ladies, calm down. Think about Emmitt - not yourselves. If you think rationally about this - Toronto is no place to raise a bear. Do you hear about gang wars and drive by shootings in Mallorytown...I think not!! I'm sure that his mother would prefer that he live on a nice quiet farm, with a stay-at-home Dad, grandfather and aunt; I of course work so that I'll be able to support him in a proper style. Of course, once he grows up he can visit the big cities and dabble with your culture but in his growing years he should be safe. REmember, I only have his  best interests in mind.

I agree with Andrea, culture, culture, culture.  My daughter and I go to the theatre regularly and we would love to have Emmett join us.  There is so much to do in the Toronto area, he won't have a minute to be bored.

Didn't you hear that Edmonton was named the Cultural Capital of Canada? It's true!!! We are more than just oil rigs, hockey and beer ya know! Emmett will be very well looked after.

You ladies are too funny!

That's not a Three Ring Circus Chrissi....heck you should see my house!

3 dogs... Mr. Bigglesworth, Foxy Cleopatra..(Cleo for short) and Cletus T. Judd (pit/lab mix, 2 mini dachshunds) On weekends, add one more "wiener" to the mix as my oldest son gives me visitation rights for Sherman, the puppy we got him for his graduation gift last year. Sherman & Cletus are brothers. I will attach a pic of them....Cletus is the small one and Sherman is much bigger, thus the reason he got the name Sherman...as in Sherman Tank *grin*

2 cats named Skunk & Kallie (gee where did I ever get my user ID?)

2 guinea pigs, Zoë and Chloe

Oh and we cant forget the 5 kids...Justin, Jared, Kennedy, Bryce and Tucker! Pheeww...I need to catch my breath!!

cletus_and_sherman.jpg

Ok, I gotta run and get something accomplished for the day....

Kim you've got me beat with the kids....but my husband is one HUGE kid if that counts for anything.
I've got xbox, playstations and the rest to trip over too     I felt bad creating my "circus" 'cause my biggest doggie was left out.  We've got 3 dogs and 3 cats.  We're the Brady bunch of furkids!!!
And my user name is me+my doggie Brinkley...she's the black and tan dog disguised as the elephant above. bear_grin

I really can't wait to see who wins, this has been a terrific event and thread!!  bear_flower

Wait a minute....I have 3 dogs, 2  cats, 2 kittens, 1 bird in my house plus my father's large dog and 3 cats in his part of the house. Then - 4 Percheron horses and a whole bunch of cows. Plus in the spring he could have his pick of piglets and baby chicks and have a healthy outdoor environment instead of being cooped up inside playing x-box.
Can't wait til he votes on who he really wants to live with.

Oh my goodness - that's way to much upheaval for Emmett.  He may be a clown but I can tell, he's very shy.  He will much prefer the location of a sleepy little village, with adults only and two well behaved cats (well, maybe ONE well behaved cat LOL!)  He will have his own room, with a TV to watch AND a special music room, for relaxation and reading.   We have a nice safe, complete self-contained curio cabinet, where he can feel at home and comfortable when our over-the-top grandson comes to visit.  As I said, we are nestled just 45 minutes from Toronto, for special cultural trips to museums, theatre and dining, yet we can provide a loving, safe, QUIET, environment, free from noisy animals and the allergies they bring.  Sorry ladies, he's practically on his way!

Brenda...I don't care what you say. Give a bear (boy) a choice between visiting a museum or staying on a farm and what do you think he's going to pick!
But don't worry, I have a guest room for when you come visit him.

Marion,  you may think that, but you obviously haven't been to the science museum in Toronto lately with a small child.  It is my grandson's favourite place in the world - even over Toys R US!!!

There is a mini grocery store there with scanners etc to check out and everything works.  Now when we go to the real grocery store, Corson want's to use the "self-scanners", so he can scan all the food LOL!  You should see everyone look at him - he know exactly what to do and he just turned 3.  He would find a farm boring - he's much to active and looooves technology.  So, not every boy wants to live on a farm!  Corson can teach Emmet to program all of our stuff.

I think we may have to let Emmitt  decide ladies.  Well all stand in a room and kim could hold him.  When she lets him go, whoever he goes to will be his new mom
I think I forgot to mention that I am a dance teacher, he would have unlimited access to ballet, modern, tap, jazz and acro classes.  This would certanly help him with his clowning ambitions.  Don't you think he'd find that enjoyable?

Hugs,

Brenda.....dear, bear_flower
You're going to make him live in a curio cabinet?!!!   bear_shocked  bear_shocked  bear_shocked That should disqualify you for sure!  The poor little chap will feel like a caged circus animal.  Oh, wait.  He kind of is a circus animal.  Clown.  Bear.  Circus animal.  Hmmmm.  A circus animal in my house?  Perhaps I should rethink this.  I'll get back you.

Warmest bear hugs,

thats right Brenda...rub it in. Yes, I don't have any grandchildren as of yet but the first is expected this July! But I could still give Emmitt a good stable home which is just what he needs after the hectic life he's lived as a circus bear.

Cabinet1.jpg

No, no, no, Aleta!  The curio cabinet is only for when he feels the need to be with his friends, or view what's going on around him from the top shelf of the cabinet.  He will have full view, out of reach of our grandson.  Emmett will have the entire house to explore!  My niece's antiques steiff clown bear looooves it!

Hi Marian,
Congratulations on your first grandchild, arriving in July - do you know if it's a boy or girl?  We only have one grandson, but he's a whirlwind and has the energy of four, but he loves his bears and I know he will be gentle with Emmett!
Corsonteddy-teddyt.jpg

"Stable  home" - are you saying poor Emmett will have to live in a STABLE!  Oh  no!  That's just awful - he is definitely better off here with me.

Brenda...I'm hoping to know what kind of baby by next week. In the meantime I'm knitting in both boy and girl colours...already have 5 sweaters, 4 pairs of socks and 1 hat finished! It would be nice if she'd consent to have boy and girl twins - after all, I've waited  patiently for so long.
No....Emmett would NOT be living in a stable. Please refrain from trying to sabotage my efforts to give poor Emmett a loving home...although I'm sure your grandson would treat him gently when Emmett visits.

Oh Brenda, your Grandson is adorable!!! Look at those bright blue eyes!

My only Grandchild is Sherman, my son's dog...we joke about him coming to "Grandma's house" and when he comes over, I always get him all excited by saying "Grandma's got cookies" etc.... My son and i both agree Sherman is the closest thing to a child/grandchild either of us is ready for at this time.

Justin and I like to play jokes on each other, so my next big one is to dress Sherman in one of my many vintage child's outfits and take him out for professional pictures. My son will get the biggest laugh out of that and Im sure he will carry one of the photos in his wallet!

Well I'm off to take pics of my new bear. Hopefully she will make her debut on ebay sometime today!

Bear hugs,

OH Kim,
I'd love to see the picture of Sherman in clothing - you'll have to post it, if you actually do it LOL!

What is it they say about the really difficult, mishievious children always being cute - it's mother natures way of assuring they'll survive until adulthood?  In our case it is soooooo true.  Corson is like a mini tornado when he visits LOL, but he is cute, and that definitely helps
