...  Well much of January went for me in a haze of sinus tablets and sleeping trying to fight off a cold.  Blossom learned about the joys of wearing a blankie for our rough January weather.  Actually with her fluffy pony coat, she'd be up to withstanding some pretty harsh weather.  But we keep getting a rain at just above freezing  bear_angry  What's with that??! So the blankies are helpful at keeping her dry and warm.

Yesterday it did it again...hard driving rain all day long.  By dinnertime, I checked her under her rug to be sure she was still dry.  The poor blankie was waterlogged!!  Blossom was damp underneath, but still warm.  However, I decided I'd best change her into a dry blankie.  That was an adventure in its own right  bear_rolleyes But she's much happier...dry, and this blankie's warmer than the other.

She's a little hard to photograph...can we say moving target?... Especially as I was holding up her breakfast for these  bear_tongue

Blossom looks well wrapped up in her rug and it looks like she needs it with that weather. My Shetland is stabled 24 hours a day with laminitis at the moment and our weather isn't that cold and I have a job with her sweating all the time as it has been so mild this winter. If I would have known at the start of winter the warm weather was going to keep like this for so long I could have had her clipped to keep her cool.

bear_sad  Oooh, you have my sympathies when it comes to lami  bear_sad   Its one of the worst things about having a pony, such a worry!

I know, I heard a gal in Germany saying their Alps didnt' get the snow this year, its been extremely mild!  Maybe all of it shifted to the US.  Sure looks like areas over here have been getting the lion's share this winter.

Blossom actually likes the snow, except for the fact it covers her precious grass, and her play balls don't roll very well in it.  Other than that, she doesn't seem to mind the cold one bit  bear_happy   Well, with a coat like that, I wouldn't either!  I think her new blankie's got more fluff than my own coat.

It does look so cold out there Debbie, but glad to see that Blossom is cosy with her new blanket.

Oh you bring back memories to me when I was younger I had a horse and I had to sometimes walk two miles to the stable where we kept her when it was snowy and cold I would almost freeze. I had so much fun having a horse and one day if I ever get the land I want I am going to have some.
