I am currently making a teddy bear ( bruin style pattern I believe) which has a hump at the base of its neck. Im kinda worried about how it looks. Does anyone have any pictures with humps on their bears? I would love to see them just to compare to the one im making. I know they won't be the same pattern, but I am interested in seeing other bears of this style. To be honest its the first one I have seen with such a pronounced hump so close to its head. If I can I will try to take a picture of it when I get home from work and post it on here. Any pictures would be appreciated.
I'm bumping this post cos I was totally looking forward to seeing hump backed bears
I usually add a hump to mine teeeej - yep right at the base of the neck! but I find I do not have
any photos of my guys SHOWING the hump.
One thing I am learning is don't worry how a bear looks til he is finished....a lot of my guys look
odd until they are put together, and then it works somehow. Anyway it'd be pretty easy to remove
the hump later if you don't like the look. Have you got collector books of antique bears? The early
guys have humps.

I wish I could post a picture on here but my mum took the camera on holidays. I have seen bears with humps, but the one im making has a hump that sits right up close to the back of its head, a good centimetre or two above the joint. Getting a good picture with the hump is hard, I know everyone is looking at the bears beautiful face! I have no collector books so far, still working on my book collection.
All my bears have a gentle hump but I don't photograph them from that angle and don't have a completed bear here at the moment to photograph .. I'll try and remember to take a profile shot when I finish the bear I'm currently working on.
Well, this is the bear I mentioned earlier ... unfortunately, I've changed my body design for this bear to make it more feminine and so the hump is quite subtle, but hopefully it will give you a bit of an idea of what can be done with the shaping and how the hump works with the head placement.
Wow that bear is cute. Thanks for the picture Paula! This will help me a lot, my bear has a similiar hump to this and I thought it looked a bit weird. But seeing your lovely creation eases my mind.
Glad the pics helped teeeej!
