One of the best endings possible, this little girl was found after two days of searching http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070616/ap_ … BvkVnMWM0F Way to go Hanna!!! That's one tough, smart little girl
And if you look at the pics, you'll see a teddy bear giving comfort to the little girl
What a relief for her family! I can't imagine what it must be like...that tough little cookie sure had some divine help!
Amazing Story...that little girl sure was a survivor...her poor grandpa is gone...but he sure trained her how to survive...raspberries in her hand when she walked out of the wilderness...she knew what to eat:)

Gee! Debbie, A :pray:er for Grampa. Its great to know Hannah was found. Its incredible she survived. Sure enough her Gardien Angel & Granpa was with her guilding her throuh those cold difficult 2 days. Thank You for sharing this with us.
This has been a huge topic here in Elmhurst, next-door to Villa Park. And Momence is about 30 miles south. We were sure that if Grandpa hadn't survived, young Hannah didn't stand a chance. Thk goodness for her 'swimmies'!
On a related survival (but for how long???!!) note is this Snopes entry. It's also been seen in our national news: it IS bears, but it's doing them no favors, nor to other humans that might encounter these in the future.

HOW DID THE GRANDFATHER DIE????????????????????????????
Thank heavens that she was found! What a shame that her grandad drowned. Doesn't it just show how strong that little darling was to go through all that alone. Bless her, I hope she has a long and happy life.
Hugs Jane.
Matilda, he was caught in one of the very strong currents, held under and drown in the river.
And Bobbie, no, I realize that fella thinks the best for the bears, but he's creating a HUGE problem!!! Wild bruins do not need to be encouraged around humans. They can do much damage without even realizing.
We used to have a similar problem with people that fed wild coons in Oregon. Wasn't long before the coons were attacking people's small dogs and breeding out of control.
Yikes Debbie, I hope I didn't imply that he was doing the right thing! NO!!
..but it's doing them no favors, nor to other humans that might encounter these in the future.
Wild nature should stay wild. We're encroaching enough into their previous territory, and in many ways, it's still the survival of the fittest; here referring to Man's superior use of weaponry that puts us higher on the food chain.
But pls don't encourage them to lay themselves out for future disaster in acclimating themselves into (this one) man's environment and them expect all humans to be like him.
Off my soapbox for today!
Ohhh we had a neighbor back in MA for a while, who had been a bear hunter & he decided he suddenly felt bad about that & would change his ways, so he started feeding the bears...of all things Dunkin Donuts...He would drive by once a week with 5 gallon buckets full of the left over donut holes that he picked up for the bears...He was not very popular with the neighbors as you can imagine...and then one day...his wife got sick of him doing this & plus the bears had killed her sisters dog..So she decided to see if she could shock her hubby into stopping feeding the bears. While he was asleep, she made a trail of donut holes from the window sill in the bedroom, across the floor, onto the night stand and on the pillow he was sleeping on. Last I knew he didn't feed the bears any more!!!!

Dear God, that's some harsh training for that man!! The wife's plan could have easily backfired on her, leaving her one less hubby.
Oooh, and Bobby, I'm sorry my post read like I was saying you condoned that other man's behavior. I've reread my post, and it didn't come out sounding like I wanted it to. I've left it up there, so others could see how my wording was bad.
I realize fully you weren't supporting this guy's behavior, and was bringing it to light. It was me misusing a negative (No, ) and making the whole sentence read incorrectly. Sorry you ended up having to 'defend' yourself  Really sorry!
Thankyou for the update Debbie.
The whole thing is such a horrid tragedy!!
