I myself haven't created any blogs, but that's due to lack of time more than anything.  However I saw this:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070621/tc … 0621120604

And wondered if this might create trouble for those that do have a blog.  Obviously you don't want to make customers or potential customers 'wince' at a word.  But what do you do??  Call a 'blog' something else??

Interesting to get a bit of feedback in the polls, but as always things have to be taken with a grain of salt.   bear_thumb

LOL Debbie, is Yahoo your Home page, too???
I use it because it opens faster than others that I've tried (comcast, BBC, Google....) I just read that there also.
I too don't read (or write) blogs - no time.

bear_grin  Yep, Yahoo's been my homepage for years.  I've tried others as a homepage, but don't like them as well.  Yahoo's is so clean, and easy to navigate.   LOL, makes it sound like I get paid by them   ~ not!  bear_rolleyes

I was used Yahoo! as my homepage for years.  I just switched two weeks ago to Google (http://www.google.com/ig) and am extremely impressed with not only how easy it was to set up but with the really cool graphic themes.  I chose a theme called "Tea Time" and it has this adorable little sushi eating fox.  It is linked to your timezone so he's doing different things at different times of the day (and the sun position in the sky also reflects where it is where you live).  Anyway, way too cool.  I'm almost tempted to log in all the time just to see what he's up to!!!

Anyway, now I say Yahoo who?

I have tea time too, Lisa!  It entertains me all day.  Love that little fox, and love my Google homepage.  I even have Google Reader as a widget there -- wonder how many people hate THAT word? Widget? -- so I can keep track of certain blogs with ease.  I have to update it, though; it's sadly missing many of my favorites, which I usually trawl from my own blog lists.

Anyway... to get around the irritation factor, you could always call a blog by its full name, thus sidestepping the problem.

WEBLOG.

I couldn't find the fox feature you have, but I can easily see hubby being swayed by the Zelda game  bear_whistle  bear_laugh

OT - but I have a few minutes between appts and went back to Google (they've changed and do have a lot more options since I first used it.)
Is anyone else disturbed by some of the links there? Great for us honest & innocents, but I'd rather there not be EZ links to How to Pick a Lock, obtain Master Bump Keys, etc....

Is it just me who's suspicious about how kids might be curious enough to try these???

Not only the kids, but what about the 'older' crowd as well?   bear_ermm   Still, I found picking locks very useful when I was a kid, and got myself locked out of my own room  bear_whistle

Well, I thought real (older teens/adults) criminals already know this stuff and more.
I just hate to think of many it an easy education for youngsters, what with summmer here, all of that free time on their hands and looking for a little excitement.
