Hi everyone, I can't take being away from TT anymore, I am becoming a very cranky person!!! I still have quite a bit of work to get done for the show in August, but I have decided to let myself have a TT fix daily!!!
I have 6 pieces ready for the show, and am hoping to take 10, but we will see what happens!!!
I have to go and get caught up on all the reading, I feel as if I have been on a deserted island and out of touch with everyone!
Hugs,
Krista
We've missed you, too!
You know, you will be more productive if you have a mini vacation a day. I think that's grand!
Congratulate yourself on being so far ahead, 6 ready already! I am quite impressed. You'll get there....not to worry just keep plugging along.
hugs
dilu
Hey Krista...get back to work! (cracking the whip)
Speaking from experience, sure a show is ultimately about making sales, but its also about networking and having fun! I have done too many shows where I have been so tired and stressed by the time I got there that I didn't even want to leave my room. Try to relax and enjoy your first show experience
Can't wait to meet you and all the other TTer's!!
Cheryl
Hi Krista ...glad to see you taking a small break. Being back with TTers will inspire you when you go back into production.
Yes, yes now you must get back to work break time is over. The boss will get upset if you take too long a break.
I looked at your blog and my favorite piece is this Saimese kitten.
I hope you don't mind I posted the picture here.
Ok, now I am off to the tread mill...
Welcome back Krista... I too have been sort of hibernating and getting ready for the show. I am soooooooo looking forward to meeting you there!!!!
Hugs,
Julie
I haven't been on much either but pop in every once in a while to catch up. I now have 6 bears for the Calgary Show and 3 more cut out.
I can't wait to see everyone. I talked to Heather the other day and things seem to be going great!!
Well done Heather!!!
Jane
That kitten is WONDERFUL !!!! And 6 pieces is really good, I am sure you will be more than ready.
I'm so jealous. wish I could be there too.
Marion
Looks like that kitten could be your boss!!! I'm sure I've seen that same expression on past manager's faces
Definitely give yourself mini breaks so you don't get burnt out. You don't want to feel resentful towards your bearmaking ~ and you will if you're pushing too hard. Glad to see you back
Thank you so much everyone, it is so nice to be back here if only briefly on a daily basis...I have missed you all so much!!! Thanks for posting Simon's picture Jared, I will post some more in the showcase this weekend of ones that are going to the show.
Hugs,
Krista
Hi krista
I bet you're busy! Are you excited though?
I've also been busy with the show prep so I know how you feel but in a way I'm kinda enjoying it.
Guess we'll see you real soon, and DO post what you're bringing to the show. It's good advertising!
OH I am having a blast!!! I have done some new designs and am having a ball...I do feel a bit of pressure, but in a good way, and am happy that I have 6 done already, and have had some on eBay to keep the supply fund running as well...so I feel a great sense of accomplishment but it is going to be nice to finally take a break...although I have a hard time sitting and not sewing something, so I don't think there will be much down time afterwards, but I do plan on creating some totally new complex designs after the show!
Hugs,
Krista
Krista,
You forgot to mention that you are foster caring for, I think it's 3? abandoned infant kittens while working! I still feel that pressure getting ready for a show, sometimes it feels like you don't have time to breathe But I always have a great time at a show. It seems like a vacation after ALL the hard work :bday:
Karen
P.S. Unless you're like my teddy bear artist friend, Barbara Burke, we have to make fun of her  she seems to bring half her table bears with her to finish at the show. I don't know how she does it. By the time I get to a show I just want to relax and enjoy talking to everyone
Karen
OH right Karen how could I forget!!! It is actually up to 6 now, all dumped in the garbage bin at A&W, they are about 5 weeks now and are eating solid food, it was pretty tiring for a while bottle feeding 6 babies every few hours....and now I got another call, someone else dumped more last night so it looks like I will be getting three more...oh and this is on top of the kittens that the mom Winnie we already had...all and all right now there are 12 kittens in my computer room, and three more coming!!! Oh yeah and working on show stuff...I love it all though!
Hugs,
Krista
How on earth do you get anything sewn?? Mister leaps at anything remotely stringlike that twitches. No wait, these are tiny babies, so probably not big enough to be pouncing yet...
You are such an angel to rescue these babies and give them such a great chance to live.
Crikey Krista I am breathless just reading this post  Boy are you busy.
  hugs to you for being such a wonderful person
WOW!!! That many kittens, no way would I take on so many. I might if I have 13 mommies to look after them.
At times I do miss my boys... but with MaeLynn's allergic reaction (very mild) and then when I pick up my paychecks I am remind why they had to go.
Though they were more distructie than any other cats that I have ever known... and not very smart at times. They couldn't figure out the door on the litter box, so I had to take it off.
Thanks guys, you are all the best!!!
the numbers have risen again over the weekend for kittens!!! 1 more from the dumpster at A&W and 4 more 3 week olds from a barn where their momma was killed by something....but they are all in the same room so it isn't too bad!! Oh yeah, and another one coming today that is very shy that needs to be worked with regulary to make him adoptable....so that will make 14 kittens in one room with ages ranging from 3 weeks to 8 weeks, what a riot!!! Oh do I have to say that I don't dare work on my bears in this room!!! The nice thing is that they all eat on their own  so no more bottles, although trying to type on the computer with kittens crawling my legs does become painful!
Hugs,
Krista
Wow, Krista, you are amazing. That's a lot of babies to care for. It's a wonder you get anything done with your work. They must be going in a hundred different directions at the same time.
You are an angel, Krista!
God Bless You! You are a super person for taking on so many kittens.
