I was looking through the list of bears on ebay and noticed one of my bears I made a liitle while ago!  bear_shocked What a punch in the gut! and the pictures that were taken make her nose look huge and I know she was cuter than that and had a smaller nose! I know people have their reasons but I still feel insulted bear_cry It's almost like listing your own bear again to see if it actually sells. I hope it does! I guess I will have to keep a watch on her. This lady only bought her in April. bear_ermm

 This just happened to me with one of my favorite (and one of my best, I think) pieces. I wanted to buy it back but could afford it--how weird is that?! People may have reasons they have to sell that probably don't have anything to do with the lovely bear!

Yes ....don't feel bad, I am going to have to sell half my doll and bear collection after the divorce. So I will be very sad, but some times you gotta do what you gotta do. I will let you all know when that happens , you all may want some. They will be discounted prices on most items... dolls for sure. The artist bears I want to allow them to have their value but maybe wholesale priced.

I totally understand Brenda.  In my case... I was able to buy mine back - and now I finally have one of my own bears

I was thinking of buying her back since she has no bids yet but my house is so cluttered! I only have room for those tiny little ones but I'm thinking about it anyways bear_smile

Its a weird feeling, isn't it? It's only happened to me a couple of times and the one on Ebay, I just willed myself not to look at it. The other one was at a show...a year earlier, someone I knew fell in love with a little bear I had and just had to have it. She was going through a bad divorce and convinced me to sell it to her at a wholesale price. You know the drill...I have no money...it would make me so happy...its helping me focus on the future etc.
( no offence to anyone going through this right now...I just see it now for what it was in this instance...manipulation bear_ermm ). At this show, she brought it to my attention and said she was selling some of her "special pieces" and offered to sell it back to me...for double what I had sold it for! bear_shocked
She did end up selling it to someone else. Funny...we haven't had that much contact since......
Try not to take it personally, obviously they think they can make some good money on it! bear_original

I took a class from Denis Shaw. He spoke of seeing his bears on e-bay. He says he will buy them back. The reason is because of the value in them and does not want his bears selling lower than what they are worth. He said it is not fair to his other customers when they pay hundreds of dollars for a bear only to see something similar go for cheap. That made sense to me... I think that is how he put it....well, in short he buys them back!.

Yes, it has happened to me a few times too.  I think you just have to "let it go" as the saying goes.

I've had this happen quite a few times.. and in most cases one of my collectors snaps them up.. OR even better I've gotten new collectors because of it.
One piece I saw sold for less that what it cost me in mohair to make it.. but the lady who bought it sent me a wonderful email about how happy she was to finally be able to get one of my bears.
I just say it gets easier and you never know what will happen to one of your critters after you send it away. I always hope somone will love it forever.. but sometimes people need money.. or space.. or just want new stuff.

Bear Hugs!
