I thought some of you might be interested in seeing the beautiful view I saw today in our Naval Harbour about 10 minutes from my house.   Nova Scotia is hosting Tall Ships from around the world again this year and today they did a parade in the harbour before they left. I forgot and only caught the last few boats, but it always reminds me of pirate movies.  It really is quite beautiful.  Halifax is quite a historic place with a Fortress surrounded by a Moat in the center of the city, cemetary containing graves of Titanic victims and also the , there is the story of the  tragic  Halifax Explosion of 1917 that occured in this harbour when 2 ships ( one carring explosives) collided causing the biggest artificial non-nuclear explosion in history.

I hope you enjoy the view.

The first one shows the ship passing in front of the spray from the fire boat.

Next pic shows a great size comparison of these tall ships with the small zodiak boat and smaller sail boats.Ships4.jpg

I apologize if this post should be elsewhere.  Just not sure where to put it now.

I didn't know that about Halifax having the cemetary for the Titanic victims, nor the explosion ~ do you think there was a fated woman behind the captain telling him to go to the left   bear_whistle

Beautiful pics, though.  I just love seeing these old ships  :photo:
