Hello again. Are you ready to hear about day three ?
Well , on Tuesday August 14th we docked at a Disney owned island called Castaway Cay(pronounced 'key')
It was hot hot hot!
As we walked off the ship...there she was...The Flying Dutchman, the actual ship used in the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean. It was an amazing site.
In the Bahamas the sky can open up in minutes and pour with rain for about ten minutes or so then clear up and be sunny again. This happened twice while on the island.
We spent the day lazing in the white sand, building sand "mountains", enjoying the little shops, and soaking in the balmy atmosphere...aaahhhhh...and eating all the fresh fruit and ice cream and other food we wanted...all included.
I'll just let these pictures do the talking:
Back on the ship we wore our new outfits we bought from Castaway Cay.
Dinner again was at Animators Palate and the theme that night was "Pirates of the Caribbean"! My hubby bought a Jack Sparrow pirate hat from the gift shop complete with dreadlocks! At each place setting was a pirate bandanna to wear on our heads if we chose to do so.
Before dinner we were entertained by another fabulous Disney live show then after dinner we all went to deck 9 open to air for the Pirate Dance party and fireworks. The energy this night was unlike anything I have experienced before...it was truly intoxicating and spectacular...Disney, once again , at it's finest.
I don't have photos of the fire works but Mark recorded it in it;s entirety for us to relive again and again. Pirate Mickey flew across the Atlantic sky on a cable, after rescuing Minnie form Captain Hook..... as the fireworks began with the song,
"Holding out for a Hero" blasting to the brilliant display. Wow, wow , wow.
Judi!
Thanks so much for showing your trip photos. As you probably know, I love the way Disney does things. (I've been at their Teddy Bear Show for the past 5 years.) THey seem to have a knack at making every age feel comfortable  Boy! I bet it was hot down there! Joey looks a little worn out by the third day?
Karen
AAAAAAAARRRRRRR, me mateys! What a super time was had by all!
What a fantastic trip - was your eldest daughter too "old" to go?? She missed out on a fantstic trip!!!!
Glad you all deserved it - I just wish I was there to join in on all the fun!!
Danni
Judi,
I've really enjoyed your report and pictures, especially from a fellow Disney lover. But I don't like looking at someone else's pictures because then I want to be there right now! We've never been on the cruise before.
Do you think the cruise is as magical as being in WDW? How's the food - is it as good as WDW?

You've got that right Karen! Anyone who thinks Disney is just for kids has not truly experienced the magic of Disney. There were all ages on this ship.
Yes, my little Joey was exhausted at the end of each day. He and Rachel were out like lights each night. I too slept better on the ship than I do at home.
Danni, my oldest daughter Jordan was crushed that she could not come. She spends the summers with her dad ( I was briefly married once before ). We have booked the same cruise for next summer and this time I have given her dad a year's notice so she will be able to come.
I think Disney lovers never outgrow Disney. I know that if I am lucky enough to reach 90 I will still want to dance with the characters and have photos taken with them.
There were a few newlyweds on board too.
The cruise was every bit as good as Walt Disney World and perhaps better in many ways. There are a limited amount of passengers so you are always so up close and personal with the crew and characters. And you're always so close to your room if you need to change or drop off all your purchases from the gift shops
My choice would be the Disney Cruise. Once you pay for the cruise the food is all inclusive...as much or little, as you want, whenever you want 24 hours a day. The daily shows are awesome...just wait until I tell you about tomorrow's show and they pamper the crap out of you(no pun intended!!) right down to handling your luggage. It is soooo worth it.
