I'm sure many of you, like me, had already heard the story of Dick and Rick Hoyt, but this is worth watching more than once.........especially the tribute video. It's beautiful and so uplifting.......enjoy!
I've posted the tribute video link first, followed by a link to another video that really tells their story.
Hugs,
Tracy

Isn't that an amazing story? I saw it at church as an example of team work. Thanks for sharing it again-lots of lessons to be learned!

You're welcome Cheryl! This is such an amazing story.........and so inspiring in so many ways. Despite his disabilities, Rick has graduated from both high school and college.........what a huge achievement!...........and his father gives him the gift of mobility by becoming his arms and legs during these races. These are two amazing people! And to think doctors recommended to them to put Rick in an institution and forget him when he was born. So sad that this was how things were usually done back then........so many were 'put away' and missed having a loving family such as Rick did. My mom's youngest sister has cerebral palsy and mild mental retardation from lack of oxygen during her birth........and grandma was advised the same thing. Thank goodness she didn't listen to that advice, and instead cared for Mary at home for 27 years. Then Mary did have to live in a group home in our home town as Grandma could no longer care for her because of her own advancing age. But the group home where Mary lives is so wonderful......thank the Lord there are places like this now. She has a busy and happy life geared for her needs. We all love her so much........people like Mary....and Rick..... have a special purpose in this world!
Tracy... amazing story !! Makes you put every thing into perspective !! Thanks for sharing.
