Chrissi and Tami . . . I don't know if this is a look you want, but I got a catalog today that had these boxes in it.  I would have just given you a link to the page on the online catalog, but they don't have a picture up.  So, I scanned the photo in the catalog so you could see what they look like.  The online link is www.northstyle.com

Those are great boxes Sue Ann. I would need bigger ones for most of my bears though.

Daphne, I would just like to say thanks a lot for this thread!!! Now I am totally paranoid about my table display!!!  bear_sad I should be working on bears, but I'm fretting over my table.  bear_wacko Just kidding! bear_grin  You do have me thinking though!

Gosh I never have enough time to think about the display til I get to the show and unpack hehe...

but your table always looks stunning Karen!  I gave the little anime ballerina of yours from the Jupiter's show to my sister when she was over from the UK a couple of weeks ago  bear_cry  bear_cry I miss that little bear  bear_grin

I have tried several times working to a theme but I can never stick to my plan....  I find that the mini mini size I make somehow always looks messy on a table and also it's very easy for peoples' eyes to gloss over them - especially if one is surrounded by "big bear" artists whose bears catch the eye.  I totally noticed at the Jupiter's show this year that once I had sold my focal pieces ( a couple of bears in tea cups) there wasn't anything big to capture people's eye.  While those bears were still there I had very busy sales and as soon as they were gone you could see peoples' attention just wasn't captured.    A show is visually overwhelming for a buyer and I know myself my eyes tend to flit to whatever spangly sparkly thing captures my attention.

However if I ever do get back to the bear making and make it to an aussie show next year I have a bit of a theme planned.

Aww thank you Melissa, I guess eventually you come up with a system that works, my coverings are pretty neutral and fit with my bears, and i probably use colours and trims I like, and they all tend to blend together in the end.
I agree having Minis/small bears has  it's own set of problems, specially when you fly to a show- and when we mostly are going places you only get a 20-22kg baggage allowance bear_sad  I've been trying to do a 'focal piece' or two, like you, lately, and I do find that it does make a difference, gets the casual buyer to stop and take a second look doesn't it?
It's funny but I also findonce I get down to a certain number of bears- around 14-15- people tend to stop looking at my table!:) I know other people with small and mini bears can *start* with less than that and sell super-well, but no not me lol.
I love hearing all the different pesrpectives and ways people work and think!:) Karen
