For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I know Daphne posted on this all ready, but I've been asked to pass along the info I received regarding the charity auction for the Ronald MacDonald House in Albany. Bear with me....its a long letter...
Dear Teddy Bear Artist,
The 2007 Teddy Bear Banquet and Auction has been schedualed for Sunday Oct 28, 2007. This fun filled day of teddy bears is in the making. For over 16 years, this beary special event has been an ongoing success and an integral part of the fund raising program of Ronald MacDonald House Charities of the Capital Region Inc. However, we must prevail on your talent and generosity to make it happen!
Thanks to artists from all over the country, over 100 hand-crafted teddy bears will be up for adoption, with all proceeds benefiting RMHC of the Capital Region. Will you share your talent with the families and children of RMHC by contributing one of your very special bears for this year's auction? Be creative!! Some artists create a one of a kind bear, and others provide us with one of their previously created works of art! Either way, we look forward to seeing those unique and furry faces arrive on our doorstep!
If you would like to learn more about the RMHC or the Teddy Bear Banquet and Auction, please feel free to contact Lori Emery at (518) 438-2655 or teddybears@rmhcofalbany.org
Bear hugs and sincere thanks,
Lucretia Finkel, Chair
Teddy Bear Banquet Committee
The gal I was in contact with was named Jan, and she said the deadline for sending in the bears was Sept 28th, but they'd make exceptions if you were very very close to this date. She also mentioned if I was late for this year's auction, she'd be happy to hold the bear over until next year's auction.
I'm not trying to push this particular charity as there are several out there. The timing for me was Fate, as I'd just had a stole donated with the request that a bear go to charity....so there you have it
