Hope I have done the right thing.
I had a potential customer enquire about one of my bears on my website. She had asked the question through my messages on e-bay. It was not related to the bear currently listed.
I emailed her that I couldn't answer her querie through e-bay as it was an out of e-bay question and knowing their rules on this sort of transaction I asked her to email me using the email address on my website and then I could answer her question.
Do you think that was the right thing to do?
I think what you did is just fine! If she doesn't bother to follow up, it may give you a hint that she wasn't that seriously interested. Ebay can be so weird about stuff but they are also a great resource - better to err on the side of caution!
Cheryl
Hi Denise,
Yes, I think you did the right thing. If Ebay were to check and realize it wasn't one of their listings, you would definitley get a reprimand or possibly a suspension. If that is explained to her and she doesn't follow up, then it's unfortunate, but you have to look out for yourself.
hugs,
Brenda
Had another email from my prospective customer and it seems she had sent me an email from my website and it bounced back.
When I checked it, even though it read correctly when I clicked on it, it was wrong.. so I have emailed her the correct one...
I am so pleased as I haven't sold many bears from the actual website..maybe if I had known the email was not coming up correctly I may have sold some more..oh well, off to fix it now..
Denise, what a great buyer you have! She has really helped you. Pam
Pam, you are so correct, thanks to this customer I am accessable to anyone wishing to email me from my website now..
The little bear that she was interested in is now on her way to Cardiff in the U.K.
