Does anyone else have this iPod problem but me?
I upload recorded CD & DVD books as soon as I can after bringing them home, so I don't owe the library every penny in my pocket in overdue fines. Then I put them on my iPod and take my time listening to them.
I'm having troubles getting them to download from my Library iTunes into the iPod in the proper 'Gapless' order.
When I took it to the Genius Bar @ Apple, they straightened out the stories I had in there and advised that I first plug in the iPod, click on My Device> File> New Smart List and drag the uploaded book from the main Music listing in the LIbrary to the DEvice.
Sometimes that works, sometimes the chapters are all mixed up or missing a few sometimes the whole book is in an upside down order and sometimes it's empty in My Device (even though it shows as being downloaded when it's plugged into the computer...) Very frustrating.
Anyone else experiencing this and how do/did you solve it????
I haven't tried downloading audio books into my Pod as yet. Wonder if it could have anything to do with the following: Preferences, Advanced, 'keep itunes music organized' tab. Thay may re-organize your chapters on you.
I do love my ipod tho - starting to drool over the new touch ones but they currently aren't large enough to hold my music library.

I asked DH Dwayne since he is the keeper of the ipod and he didn't know but did highly recommend the book "IPODs & ITUNES for Dummies" - your library should have it (that's where he got it) and most likely will have the answer. Unfortunately he returned it to the library already or he'd look it up for you!

Bobbie,
I do the same thing as you and put them on my iPod as soon as I take them home from the library. The way I have gotten around them going onto the iPod in the wrong order is by following the instructions on this website: http://aldoblog.com/audiobooks/itunes/i … audio-cds/ These are the instructions for the audio cds but he also has a link for the MP3 cds. He also gives instructions on optimizing iTunes for audiobooks. The trick is basically in joining the tracks so each CD is imported as one track. I also make sure that I name each CD the same and use numbers to designate which one CD and of how many. For example: Harry Potter Deathly Hollows 01/17.
Feel free to PM me if you need any help.
Hugs,
Thx all - I forgot to check "Subscribe to Topic' so I just saw your replies while surfing... (I'm busy backing up my HD on DVDs now - a la Daphne) so I've Bookmarked the site to read later.
