Hi everyone,
Well, I have had a rather "unusual" request and, for one moment, thought it was April 1st!! (April Fools Day in our part of the world!!).
Someone from the Far East made enquiries about one of my bears which is quite large and heavy, and when I looked into the cost of sending it to them, it proved too expensive.
Their request then was ......... wait for it ............ could I please completely UN-STUFF the bear!!!!!!!!!!! Then, I could send it to them as it would be cheaper and they would then re-stuff it over there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Errrrrrrrrmmmm ..... no comment!
So I was wondering whether anyone had ever had this sort of request before? Is it something that does happen??? Needless to say, I declined!!!!!
Hugs
Marilyn
LOL that is a good one! hahahaha
That's hilarious ! ! !
No!!! Was that a joke?? If so I totally missed it. Someone explain it to me..
Imagine!!??
Someone who thinks that (any)one can just push the stuffing back in and get the same bear!!
Now THAT's a new one
No!!! Was that a joke?? If so I totally missed it. Someone explain it to me..
Hi Debbie,
No, you haven't missed anything, there's nothing to explain - It was not a joke - they were quite serious. Someone did say to me that maybe the person wanted to use the bear for the pattern, but either way, there is no way I would pull a bear apart especially when I have taken hours to get it right in the first place! I just wanted to know if anyone had come across this before!
Hugs

Well I've heard of flat pack furniture before but never a flat packed bears.
Daft person, shows they don't know a thing about artist bears doesn't it!
Yep, maybe they were after your pattern...I would have said no as well..what ever next.
Hugs, Jane.
Dear me, the poor bear wouldn't know what was up, one minute stuffed, then unstuffed, then stuffed again. Poor little soul. I am glad you said no. I imagine if you had done it and they pushed a bit of stuffing in at the other end in 30 seconds, then you would get an email saying that it doesn't look like the original bear!!!!
Oh dear Marilyn.....well you know the saying..."there's nought as queer as folk"...obviously not a true collector!!!!    No never had a request like that!!!
Hugs Yvonne
Marilyn: Sounds like this person is three sandwiches short for a picnic!
Oh BOY !!!! thats a new one on me too
But the first thing that did pop into my mind is they were after the pattern like someone else said. Boy they have no idea how hard it is to stuff a bear correctly, takes a while to be good at it . But that is funny though on the lighter side.
Unbelievably cheeky!! I never head of that before
Pauline
Well, the paranoid in me thinks maybe it was so the bear would be easier to examine, take apart and copy in a sweat shop.
Okok.....I said I tended toward paranoia.....
hmmmmm
